10 Scariest Horror Movie Clowns

Clowns – if you are one of them people that actually enjoy them prancing around with those huge, fake painted smiles then you really should watch these films to re-evaluate your standing on the matter.

Over the years there have been a plethora of horror movies completely dedicated to these creepy entertainers. I may get some degree of abuse from this but after watching the majority of these movies I have resorted to sleeping with my bedroom light on for a day or two afterwards. These clowns can take many guises, from demonic entities, aliens or your bog standard, deranged, psychopathic killers.

Here we count down the 10 scariest horror movie clowns to have graced our screens over the years…and if your curiosity takes the better of you and you do decide to watch one of these films, WhatCulture cannot be held liable for lack of sleep or an onset of Coulrophobia.

Guardian Viral Video Chart: McFly wedding, The Hobbit and David Bowie

Watch Alex Jones tear into Piers Morgan, Russell Crowe is ripped into for Les Mis and a fat man drums up support

We've got a sweet start to the chart this week – before everything kicks off and it gets a bit aggressive. Tom Fletcher from McFly sings his way through the groom's speech at his wedding – and you can be certain that there won't be a dry eye in the house.

Meanwhile you may think that the only thing that links the hit comedy The Office with The Hobbit is actor Martin Freeman? Well think again – this one will get them all Tolkien!

This week's big cinema opening in the UK is Les Miserables and there's a great spoof from The Onion on one of its leading men – Russell Crowe. If you aren't sure if Russell has the music in him, then one man who definitely does is this big

Nato And Remy’s Last Stand: What To Stream This Halloween On Netflix!

Remy and I like instant gratification just as much as the next guy - how could you not? Drive thru’s and insta-apps have made life so simple and easy, it’s almost disgusting. In many ways, we have become parodies of ourselves, refusing to move until we melt into the furniture of our bedrooms like a scene from Videodrome. So, of course, the idea of instantly accessing an entire database of films at your beckoning call is some sort of heaven, moving us one step closer to our human forms from Wall-e.

Streaming Netflix movies have only made this self-gratifying sloth like indulgence worse for us, which is why we love it. Click a movie and get to watch it? That’s some Willy Wonka levels of magic there, except all you need to do is press a button instead of sit through a song sang by little orange midgets.

The Good, the Bad and the Bloody: An Interview with 'Blood Rites' Director Dorothy Booraem

  • Planet Fury
Dorothy Booraem is a video production multi-hyphenate from Lincoln, Nebraska. In addition to creating several film and video shorts, she is also the writer and director of the Asian-influenced horror feature Wake the Witch (available on Netflix). As the COO of Unfiltered Entertainment, a privately owned production company, she has helped in fostering a creative community of artists who specialize in genre content. Her newest project, Blood Rites, is a well-shot, micro-budget horror feature that she co-wrote, produced and directed with the help of her dedicated team. In spite of our underwhelming review, Booraem generously gave her time (and refreshing sense of humor) to speak with Planet Fury about working with a low budget, her creative process and embracing negative criticism.

How did you get started making movies?

How did I get started making movies? Like this… I was working at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder on the costume/prop crew.

Andy Samberg Crashes Santigold's NYC Show

By Uptin Saiidi (@uptin)

New York - Fresh off his 100th SNL Digital short premiere on Saturday, Andy Samberg, dressed as Shy Ronnie, crashed Santigold's show in New York City Monday night (May 14).

The show was put on by Samsung to celebrate its 5 million "likes" on Facebook and held at the intimate Irving Plaza. The singer opened with her best-known hits before moving on to her latest tracks from her sophomore album, Master of My Make Believe.

She rocked out on stage with two backup dancers in festive costumes and at one point selected a dozen or so fans to come up on stage to dance with her.

The crowd, which was composed mainly of fans who were hooked up through Samsung's Facebook page, was treated to an open bar, appetizers and even a few surprise guests.

In addition to Samberg, Pharrell Williams also joined the indie sensation to perform "My Drive Thru.

Votd: ‘Drive Thru,’ A Parody of Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Drive’

Votd: ‘Drive Thru,’ A Parody of Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘Drive’
You want me to pick you up something from the drive-thru, you give me a time and a place. I give you a five minute window. Anything you want, I'll order it and get it to you in about five minutes no matter what. But I don't go inside the restaurant. I don't do carry out. I just drive thru. If you've seen Nicolas Winding Refn's Drive (and if you haven't, what are you waiting for?!?) the above quote will make much more sense. It's Ryan Gosling's character's mantra adapted for fast food. That also happens to be the aim of the latest Funny or Die video Drive Thru. It takes the visuals, sounds and attitude of Drive and folds it into a kind of unclear, but still hilarious story of a man who picks up drive thru only to mistakenly come in possession a bag of burgers that don't belong to him.

Schlock Value: The Return Of Schlock

Shlock Value

The Return Of Schlock

They say a good thing never dies. Well I have no idea why I’m back then. But I am, so deal with it. The return of Icons means the return of Schlock, and while I’ve been monster busy having just finished studying the wonderful art that is Television making and then going straight into the world of freelance anythingwithapaycheck, I’ve found time to come on back to this corner of the site they’ve given me so I can keep screaming at that brick wall until my face is red and my lungs have long since said “fuck this”. You know the drill…

Indie Music Warehouse Destroyed in London Riots

In another senseless act of violence, the BBC reports that the Sony/Pias distribution centre warehouse in Enfield, North London was sadly destroyed in the riots in London on 8th August. Major labels such as Sony had their stock destroyed, but perhaps more disturbing is to hear of all the independent labels that have been affected. This will be this devastating to them and their artists who have worked so hard to build strong businesses around good independent music. Pias are the biggest distributor of indie labels in the UK. and they also had most of their stock destroyed.

Below is a list of the labels they handle distribution for;

[Pias] Recordings, [Pias] Recordings Belgium, 4Ad, A Camp, Absynthe Minded, Accidental, Aei Music, Air Recordings, Alc Music, Alsation, Ambush Reality, Ancient & Modern, Angular Recording Corporation, Arcady Records, Ark Recordings, Asthmatic Kitty Records, Atlantic Jaxx Recordings, Bad Magic, Balling The Jack, Banquet Records,

Tony Todd Is Back For Final Destination 5! And 6? And 7?

I'm sure most of you aren't excited for the recent installment in the Warner Bros/Newline Final Destination franchise, but for those of us who carry a soft spot for Death and it's clever and sometimes ridiculous ways of killing off those silly people who try to escape it, this news is for you! When asked what could be expected in Final Destination 5 during an interview with Dread Central, Tony Todd responded "Thumbs up! Thumbs way up. They expanded my part, and the producer told me as we were leaving Vancouver that if it opens at Number 1 – which statistically it has – they’re going to shoot the next two simultaneously."Without an official trailer for Final Destination 5, it's tough to determine much about the film and of course, we already know that everyone dies at one point or another. Let's face it, who really goes to see a

'Gossip Girl's' Blake Lively and Leighton Meester: Who's the next big screen queen?

  • Pop2it
"Gossip Girl" starlets Blake Lively and Leighton Meester are no strangers to rivalry. They duke it out on-screen as Serena and Blair, TV's ultimate fashionable frenemies. It's also been widely reported that the two are less than friendly off-screen. Now it seems like the beauties will be battling it out on the big screen as well.

With the success of Lively's latest film "The Town" and the release of the trailer for Meester's  "The Roommate", we couldn't help but wonder if Queen S or Queen B would be the first to pull a Mischa Barton and request to be killed off their hit show.

We decided to leave it up to you to decide who has what it takes to make it on the big screen and who will be left to fend off Little J all by their lonesome on the Upper East Side. Here's what you need to

Lindsay Lohan, Diddy, Heidi Montag 'Guest' In 'Weird Al' Yankovic's New Video 'Ringtone'

  • MTV Newsroom
It's a little bit strange to think about, but "Weird Al" Yankovic has been scoring hits with song parodies for nearly 30 years. How has he managed to maintain a full career while other novelty songwriters fall by the wayside? He kept ahead of the game and stayed incredibly sharp. His commentary remains clever and biting, and he has been drifting away from parodying actual songs ("Smells Like Nirvana" and "Amish Paradise," for example) and getting into stuff that mocks things stylistically. (Not that he hasn't completely given up attacking specific tunes — his "Trapped in the Drive Thru," a fun-poker at R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet," was brilliant.)

His latest work is an Internet-only Ep called Internet Leaks, which collects five singles Yanokovic has dropped in the past year. There's the Doors parody ("Craigslist"), a tribute to actor Charles Nelson Reilly ("Cnr") and a sharp play on art school

Mariah Carey Not First Artist To Make Beautiful Music With Madison Avenue

  • MTV Newsroom
Perhaps you read that Mariah Carey's upcoming CD, Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, will come with a 34-page booklet packed with ads for upscale perfumes and liquors. Her label, Island/Def Jam, is promoting the venture as a ground-breaker in integrating marketing for a music industry that has seen a steadily increasing decline in music sales over the past decade. But as pioneering as it is, Mariah is not the first artist to dip her toe into musical product placement by teaming up with advertisers to hawk her music.

Last year, Chris Brown's label cut a deal with the Wm. Wrigley, Jr. company to have the singer turn his song "Forever" into a jingle in ads for Doublemint gum by using the 1famous "double your pleasure, double your fun" tagline. While plenty of singers have lent their songs out to be used in commercials, the collaboration with the gum

X17 Xclusive - Angelina And Brad Hit The Drive-Thru Again!

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - For the second time in as many weeks, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have been spotted taking their kids to McDonald's. Like last time, the Jolie-Pitts used the drive-thru at the golden arches in Hollywood. A witness at the scene tells X17online the family ordered Happy Meals for the kids, while Brad enjoyed a McCafe iced coffee. The kids are apparently not allowed to drink soda, since 3 bottles of water were ordered with the Happy Meals. Is this the family's new Sunday ritual? Or perhaps like many other working families it's an easy and inexpensive way to keep the kids happy. X17 Xclusive - Angelina And Brad Make A Run To McDonald's

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - We're they just picking up a quick for the kids or was something else behind Angelina and Brad's recent trip to McDonald's? Brad drove and Angelina sat in the passenger seat of the family's black Suburban, while their army of children all sat in the back of the monstrous SUV. The family waited in the line for about five minutes, and their bodyguards blocked the drive through to prevent anyone from coming near the Jolie-Pitt gang. A witness tell X17online exclusively, "It seemed like a normal family outing for them. Brad and Angie didn't try to hide from the cameras, and even though they attracted a lot of attention, they didn't seem to care." Could there another reason these two are stopping by the golden arches? Like pregnancy cravings? Rumors that Brad and Angelina could be adding to their brood are floating around Hollywood,

Leighton Meester makes like a pop star

Spotted: The Queen B straying from her Upper East Side hive and making a break for the recording studio. Certainly Blair Waldorff wouldn't be caught dead "slumming it" in Williamsburg, but Leighton Meester may be headed to a stage near Brooklyn soon.

When she hasn't been stealing every scene on the CW’s Gossip Girl, the dark-eyed thud-worthy Meester has been busy putting together an electro-pop album with aspirations of sounding like her influences M.I.A. and Gwen Stefani. Those are some pretty lofty goals (especially in the M.I.A. department) and if her recently leaked song, "Birthday," (a New Republic cover) is any indication, she may want to reconsider her production team.

The song starts out strong: Her voice has a great pop aesthetic and the beat propels the song forward nicely. In fact, it would be a great tune to put the show’s “Omfg” ad

Intrepid inks scribes for 'Expendable'

NEW YORK -- Intrepid Pictures has acquired the graphic novel The Expendable One and signed Shane Kuhn and Brendan Cowles to write the screenplay for the superhero satire.

Intrepid Pictures partners Marc D. Evans and Trevor Macy will produce the feature, which centers on a typical suburban guy who accidentally injects himself with a serum that allows his body to heal from any injury. He tries to help some locals with the aid of a police radio, but when the CIA recruits him to find a serial killer, he finds he is in over his head.

Writer Jason M. Burns and illustrator Bryan Baugh published the book through Viper Comics last year.

Kuhn and Cowles are now writing the video game-inspired action film Twitch for Sony Pictures and Neal Moritz's Original Film. The pair is set to make their directorial debut with the Lionsgate horror film Drive-Thru and have a script deal at Focus Features' genre arm, Rogue Pictures.
