This short is among the extras on the Criterion Collection DVD of Andrzej Wajda's film, A GENERATION. While the feature itself is excellent, this little film is absolutely invaluable for the total enjoyment of the film. That's because many years after he made this film, he was interviewed in a post-Soviet dominated Poland and he could talk openly about the process of making the film as well as the intervention that occurred from the government before they would allow the film to be released to the public. Surprisingly enough, in this repressive society, the director was actually able to film most anything he wanted. It was only AFTER the film was made that the government censors viewed it and told him what to change (an odd way of doing it, I think).
