On Doomed to Consume. . .
As a cult horror fan I purchased a copy of Doomed recently when I heard about it from Fangoria, and I must say exceeded my Expectations, did it do. The pacing of Doomed was fast action and tight, creating a sense that the characters were trapped by all forms of tyme, space and Matter from corn field mazes, to the abandoned villages to absence of petrol. . .there was naught escape from the zombie hordes milling about. . .hence, they would become "doomed" to assimilate into such. As per the cast of unknowns I will say I was very much impressed by their very raw performances, most notably the Gelastic Stokes brothers who were memorably funny and stole the show! The effects had a realistic gore look to them, and trust me I've seen my share of bad effects on film. My only complaint was it ran not long enough, and more emphasis on killing zombies was needed, otherwise this film was worth every pence!
