Storyline

Tongue-in-cheek look at 20-something singles clubbing and partying in L.A.; it's organized into 15 chapters from overview and preparation to partying and the morning after. Voice-over narration, charts and graphs, and visits to a research laboratory punctuate the story of a single night when groups of friends go out, drink alcohol, take drugs, dance and talk, and look for someone to go home with. Dangers, minor and major, await those who don't plan well or behave foolishly, and the rewards, even for those who plan well, are few. But the species' survival may depend on these rituals. A Joking, But True, Look at Partying
11 August 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

This film offers a humorous, yet informational, guide for men and women on how to meet members of the opposite sex. Such things covered include parties, clubs, drugs and different signs that might be misinterpreted. The plot, if there is one, is very thin.

I instantly loved this film. Another reviewer said it's not funny just because it's true. And that's a valid point, not everything true is funny and not everything funny is true. But in this case, it is both funny and true. And that is what makes it really hit home -- if you've ever been a guy (I can't speak for the ladies) in a social situation, this more or less sums up exactly what your evening is going to be like.

There are a series of experiments presented by some scientist guys... these parts are not generally as funny, but break up the sections nicely. Also, there is a fair amount of hotness and some nudity, which is what you're going to want if you're watching a film about "getting down". If you're not into partying and never have been, you may not relate, but otherwise this is a must-see.
