Storyline

Tongue-in-cheek look at 20-something singles clubbing and partying in L.A.; it's organized into 15 chapters from overview and preparation to partying and the morning after. Voice-over narration, charts and graphs, and visits to a research laboratory punctuate the story of a single night when groups of friends go out, drink alcohol, take drugs, dance and talk, and look for someone to go home with. Dangers, minor and major, await those who don't plan well or behave foolishly, and the rewards, even for those who plan well, are few. But the species' survival may depend on these rituals. Great movie
28 February 2008 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

One of the most originally hilarious movies I'd seen in a long time. From rating other movies I'd seen, this was a recommendation and I took a chance on it. I watched it probably 20 times in the course of 2 weeks with different groups of friends, none said one bad thing about it. One of my friends actually went online and bought it. For a movie that has no A B or C list actors, I thought it was great.

The mockumentary style of presenting 'How to get down' was well played. You can't take the movie seriously or you will be disappointed, it's not a real guide. Enjoy the fun at pokes at this lifestyle, and it might help if you are / were someone who parties, so that you can relate to the movie. People really are like this.
