Yes this film has deficiencies, it is confusing in places and the ending is underdeveloped which I suppose the majority of viewers will find frustrating. However, I found this refreshing and preferable to some sort of cop out conclusion where everything is all neatly tied up (like the superficially similar Dead End).
There is very little action and it is certainly slow moving but neither of these are to the films detriment and I personally thought this did create a sense of suspense.
In some respects Isolated has parallels with No Country For Old Men (but not as successfully realised ) and will obviously attract the same sort of criticisms regarding what is or isn't shown on screen.
Acting is pretty good all round and cinematography is excellent, the film is nicely understated, very atmospheric and despite the problems has enough interesting ideas in it to be worthy of a rental.
