TV News Roundup: ‘Sharknado 5’ Gets Official Title, Celebrity Cameos Revealed

In today’s roundup, Syfy announces the official title for “Sharknado 5,” and Food Network adds two new shows. 


The latest installment of “Sharknado” will officially be known as “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming,” with the tagline, “Make America Bait Again.” Both are a result of a fan-sourced initiative where Syfy invited Facebook users to submit ideas.  The latest plot follows Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid) as their young son gets trapped in a traveling tornado and is transported all over the world. Cassie Screbo, Masiela Lusha and Cody Linley will reprise their roles, and the film will feature a number of cameos from Fabio, Tony Hawk, Olivia Newton-John, Clay Aiken, Bret Michaels and “Today” hosts Al Roker, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. “Sharknado 5” is a production of The Asylum and directed by Anthony C. Ferrante and based on an original screenplay by Scotty Mullen.

James Corden Opens Up About Being Judged on His Looks, Teases Changes to 'The Late Late Show'

James Corden is a true Hollywood success.

The 38-year-old host of The Late Late Show covers Esquire's March issue, in which he talks about his start in show business and how he's had huge success in creating viral clips, such as his now infamous Carpool Karaoke segments. But Corden isn't just comfortable resting in his success.

"I'm always keen to try new things visually, with openings and sketches," Corden tells the magazine about what changes to expect from his show in the coming year. "I'd like to film the show somewhere else for a week."

"Visually better," he adds. "More ambitious. And also sillier. Those three things."

James Corden Ocean’s Eight news: TV chat show host and actor joins the cast of the upcoming comedy/ action spin-off.

The Late, Late Show host James Corden has joined the cast of the in-production Ocean’s Eight. The news of the British star’s casting was first reported by Deadline, who revealed that the TV host and star of such films as Into The Woods, The History Boys and Trolls, had joined the likes of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter.

Shooting is taking place in New York City where a heist is being plotted by the aforementioned ‘eight’. The trade blog reports that Corden will play an insurance investigator who grows suspicious of them.
