The Zebub Masterpiece
12 July 2010 | by (Tallahassee, Florida) – See all my reviews

I can assure you, right off the bat, that The Worst Horror Movie Ever Made is by no means, the worst horror movie ever made. But one thing is for sure, this movie is definitely something. But what, exactly? Very, very low budget? Yep. Crazier, and more outlandish that 90% of Troma movies? Yep. More offensive than Bloodsucking Freaks and Cannibal Holocaust put together? Well, I suppose that's pushing it a bit. The Worst Horror Movie Ever Made, above all, is ambitious.

This Bill Zebub guy deserves a big bag of kudos, or at least something similar. This guy went to great lengths to break every taboo imaginable, over-use every Horror cliché he could think of, and shock, disgust and/or entertain the ever-loving hell out of anyone fortunate enough to stumble upon this garbage. And make no mistake about it, this movie is total garbage, but if you can overlook that tiny detail, you'll be sucked in to an epic story that seems to go on for days. Bill is a metal-loving, sexist, opinionated atheist, who has very little patience for his gold-digging girlfriend, Jeanne, although, he appreciates the fact that she only wears lingerie. After a game of strip-poker, involving the happy couple, and a bunch of random people, gets interrupted by a random axe massacre, Bill and Jeanne flee, and are plunged into a world of non-stop offensive chaos. We, the viewer are subjected to crude, immature, sometimes confusing humor, ludicrous quotes, random situations, all kinds of blasphemy, and terrible acting, which is obviously on purpose, but what the hell, right? Come to think of it, at least 90% of the ineptness offered by this garbage epic is on purpose. But once more, what the hell.

Once you make it all the way through, you may notice how silly, little words like "taboo" and "contraversial" just won't have the same meaning. This is it. You will be officially desensitized, whether you like it or not. After all this, the idea of ever watching another Horror spoof seems a bit pointless, and would probably come off completely watered-down, compared to this outrageous, vulgar exercise in offensiveness. For more in Horror that Literally goes all the way, you may or may not want to check out August Underground. But that's another story, entirely. As I said before, this film ain't the worst Horror movie ever made (see The Chooper), but what it is just might be the best example of bad taste since Pink Flamingos. If you're looking for even a shred of normal, or anything even resembling traditional Horror, you seriously need to pass on this one, and never look back. But if Troma, vintage-Waters or LBP gets you going, then good news, because you just found a new addition to your B-movie collection. 8/10
