Not worth watching
TheGOLDENWALRUS27 July 2007
I like watching snowboarding when I'm not skateboarding in the summer time so I thought I'd give this movie a try. It has a million dollar budget so it can;t be that bad. I was wrong.

The writing was terrible. Arguments seemed like they happened too quickly and conflicts would happen in almost every scene. The directing was horrible and same to the audio. Too many scenes prolonged while the audio peeked during arguments. When the audio didn't peek, it was muffled. Though saying all this, it wasn't badly acted. Some of the extras were bad but for the most part, the leads did a decent job. The stunts were also pretty good but not over the top.

You'll get a typical storyline out of this but it was well below average even for a low budget film. The budget must of been spent mainly on the leads and stunt devils.

Quite possibly the worst movie ever...
dougnoneyobusiness11 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
***possible spoilers herein***

Okay folks, here's the real skinny on this movie...if you want the truth about this film, or what is really a waste of celluloid, pay closest attention to the negative reviews here and write off anything positive since the positives are probably written by people who have some interest in this film or want to steal money and time from you sneakily through the Internet, or who want to kind of make this a joke...because it really is...

It's very clearly a low budget film and I suspect most of the budget went to Tom Sizemore, and have to ask, what the hell was a talented guy like Sizemore doing in this piece of garbage of a film.

He has started to do lesser flicks, though he is A-list in ability and pure chops, so I suspect he either owed somebody something or was friends or somehow got conned into this, since his paycheck is probably as substantial for much lesser TV bit parts.

In a nutshell, I found this movie unwatchable.

The story sounded unoriginal but I had some free time alone on a Saturday night and so I watched this for maybe a half hour and now feel I should write the directors and so on and ask that they give me this half hour of my life back.

The girl playing Christie or however they spell it was the only real bright spot in this turd and the only real one who seemed with some talent and ability to appear believable for me. "Alex," was half believable and played the lead with this chip on his shoulder and the thing came off as horribly amateurish and boring.

The script was totally predictable. You could tell during the "competition" that the "crowd" consisted of about ten people who they consistently came back to in shots to show the clamoring "crowd," and really, it's not that difficult to find extras who will work for free just to do this.

The snowboarding was played with creatively to make it look like a live motion photoshop edit...and I found the half hour I spent/wasted watching this to be more boring than using the bathroom, clipping my fingernails or sweeping out the garage.

I cannot believe I actually did this.

I cannot believe I actually sat and watched this and some of the acting was pretty horrid, which makes it unbelievable, the story is rather maudlin with even parts that are supposed to be more light-hearted, cold and lifeless instead and the only redeeming qualities I even found were the pretty blond who played this Christie character, and then I was enthused to look up the large breasted brunette from the hot tub scene later on Google, because I like women...but I found little to laud in this time I spent watching.

Believe the negative and careful of the positive because you either have stuff that is written by people who worked on this and want to puff it up, or you have guys who think Wrestling is all real and not a show and the best entertainment available to mankind, i.e. not the sharpest tools in the shed, but tools nonetheless...

A fair movie for what it is cut to a throbbing pop-punk, hip-hop and rap soundtrack
smileygo24 February 2007
If you just watch it as entertainment and a collection of world-class snowboarding to a throbbing pop-punk, hip-hop/rap soundtrack, and a thin plot connecting everything, White Air is entertaining.

Their's also a specials disk with pure snowboarding action and insane big country footage.

Alex Crow dreams of turning professional snowboarder have faded and he now works as a mechanic. With a second chance at turning pro Alex must choose to either follow his dream or give up and work a stable profession. The frequent snowboarding action sequences clearly serve the snowboarding fans. The super pipe sequences are well shot and the plot contains standard elements we have seen in countless movies like, Karate Kid, Blue Crush and others aimed at a younger audience. It's a low budget movie that plays well over music and action fun. Nothing to serious but enough to entertain for close to 1 1/2 hours.

Weak
jwindego21 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Watching this movie is a spoiler. This movie does not have very good flow, character development or story line. It looks like it was shot with a camcorder and edited over a weekend. One weak scene was repeated three times in a row just during the intro and was done so not for effect but apparently just to fill time. I was looking forward to judging a book by it's cover and give this movie a chance but it never got better and only got worse. I'm not sure if this movie was edited or even previewed before it was sent straight to video. I'm always up for a good snowboarding movie with some good action shots accompanied by beautiful mountain scenes and this movie had neither. Save your money, read a book before you rent this one.

UNWATCHABLE!
jmbegin-1290522 August 2021
I bought this DVD for 1 canadian dollars. And i've watched it for only 30 minutes before destroying the DVD disc. Piece of garbage.

It's a cheap production. It was filmed with probably a first generation digital camera. The sound is awful and that music at every minute, grunge, rock, rap, name them is sooo annoying!! That was the reason i've stopped watching.

And snowboarding in California??? Really??? You better watch some old winter olympic games and you will be more satisfied.

Of course if you're in the 12 to 20 years old range, maybe this is for you...

White Air Is Worthy
bmannhere26 February 2007
White Air is a good little movie, well cast (that guy Riley Smith looks like an up-n-comer), some killer action sequences (felt like I was right there in the slush), and most importantly it's heart is in the right place. It doesn't have any of the cynicism that usually plagues the action sports genre, it's a good hearted pic and it's not afraid to wear that heart on it's sleeve. I think the director got a lot of bang out of what was obviously some limited bucks, I'd be interested to see what he could do working with a little more coin. Overall a fun ride that beats the hell out of most direct to video efforts, one that I would've been happy shelling out a few bucks for in the theater. Like I said, White Air is worthy. Check it out.

All over energetic film
vincenzo3626 February 2007
Well written story, excellently directed. Overall entertaining. A must see for all sports lover.A fell good movie, for all ages. Take a date, your friend, your teenagers, grandparents. Rarely do you find a movie that could entertain an array of people. The actors were believable, no doubt the direction of a good director. These actors were brought to their finest potential. The actors all were enjoying themselves , they seemed to like the script and were comfortable to play their characters. The music in this film was meticulous picked. A movie of this caliber needs the right music. Good job!, to the Actors, Directors, Producers! Give us more. V&V

snow board film
acagataygur30 November 2007
I think this movie was not only so good but also so bad. However, this was entertainment for me. If you fan of the Domique, you should watch it. Because she is the best talented actress in the world. If you love snow and snow sport, you can watch it. I liked that. In addition to this there was some discontinuity with the story. I did not like the director because I think he used lots of unimportant details. The movie should contain more emotional scene. Dominique should have been able to play much more time. It doesn't have any of the cynicism that usually plagues the action sports genre, it's a good hearted picture and it's not afraid to wear that heart on it's sleeve. I think the director got a lot of bang out of what was obviously some limited bucks, I'd be interested to see what he could do working with a little more coin. Overall a fun ride that beats the hell out of most direct to video efforts, one that I would've been happy shelling out a few bucks for in the theater. Like I said, White Air is so so. Check it out.
