Did You Know?

During the game you hear audio clips playing intended to be flashbacks of previous games. These are especially predominant in Shadow Moses, where the first Metal Gear Solid took place. However, the audio clips are not from the original "Metal Gear Solid" on the Playstation and PC but the re-recorded dialog from the remake "Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes" on the GameCube. This is especially noticeable since in some of the audio clips Naomi doesn't speak with an accent and the dialog was slightly altered from the original. See more »

In this game, we're told that Para-Medic, the female doctor from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, was Dr. Clark, who Naomi mentioned several times in Metal Gear Solid. However, Naomi always referred to this person as male. This is an unfortunate translational error: the Japanese language provides many gender-neutral terms, so Clark's gender was never specified in the Japanese version of the first game. The "Metal Gear Solid Database" which Konami have released fudges this by claiming Dr. Clark was secretive, and Naomi mistakenly assumed she was male as a result. See more »

Solid Snake: [codec call to Otacon, inside the trash]
Hal 'Otacon' Emmerich: Snake, where are you now?
Solid Snake: Trash can.
Hal 'Otacon' Emmerich: A trash can?
Solid Snake: Looks like this is where they dump their household trash.
Hal 'Otacon' Emmerich: Huh. How can you tell?
Solid Snake: Cause it's stinks in here... Bad. Leftovers for last dinner, probably.
Hal 'Otacon' Emmerich: Ewww, leftovers...
Solid Snake: And there's some... bugs crawling around on my face.
Hal 'Otacon' Emmerich: Ewww...

Greatest video game EVER MADE
18 September 2008 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This game is just to good, there is no other better example of masterful cut scenes merged with the game play of perfection!!! Hideo kojima has improved every aspect of the game play and introduced the best looking and the most technically impressive game that is ever made. True this may not be every persons game but it is the hardcore fans that will remember this game the most, sure this game didn't beat the records of GTA 4 but will always be remembered as an epic not a blockbuster. There is no video game with such in-depth story line and characterisation these are the aspects hideo kojima focuses on as well as the immense game play. Evry weapon just feels right and every cqc moves leaves the player satisfying and most importantly the innovation of octacamo which is now considered to be one of the best outfits in games games in the history of game making.
