I saw this short film, and it had some great production values. This is a gritty story of a struggling boxer and his overbearing father, who took part in a fixed fight killing his career. Now his son is a boxer, and faces the same decision in his life. Will his father give him the fix?
What strikes me as interesting was that, even though it's a familiar story, the production values were incredible as it felt like a major feature. The story is pretty much what you expect it to be-- they are breaking no new ground here.
Some of the performances where really good. Travis Aaron Wade is a future star -- what a powerful performance. He has this soft raspy voice that is rough, yet gentle. Robert Patric looks as crusty as ever.
This is a great introduction for the director. Must have been a really big budget for a short film.
