Trivia

Writer Francisco Payó González worked also as a creative assistant to director Beto Gómez during preproduction and filming of the movie. Other tasks for the screenwriter consisted in writing new dialogue for the Arab, Turkish and Russian characters that in the screenplay only were mentioned as speaking foreign dialogue that the main Mexican characters didn't understand, but that required to say "something" at the time of the filming. These new pages of dialogue were sent to a translator, who send the translations back to Francisco Payó González and to a Dialogue Coach, this last one preparing the actors and extras with their particular foreign dialogs during preproduction. On the set, a new Dialogue Coach was in coordination again with Francisco Payó González to make adjustments at the very time of the shooting, not only to help the actors but also to cut things in order to help the pace of the scene. Neverthless, many pages of this kind of dialogue were written to prevent any eventuality or need, even for characters whose scenes were deleted or shortened in the edition room. See more »

Viva México and Viva "Salvando al soldado Pérez"!!!!!!!!
22 May 2011 | by (Mexico) – See all my reviews

Just saw this movie during a special midnight screening in the "Hola México" Film Festival in L.A., and let me tell you that I love it!!!! Really funny, with great characters and an imaginative and international story, for me as a Mexican was a touching but also exciting experience to be in an American cinema watching a great Mexican movie. What a crazy and well done idea for a movie. At last a Mexican movie where we are the heroes of the movie!!!!!! I can't wait to the commercial release of this movie in the U.S., I check the Internet and it seems it will be September the 16th of 2011. Viva México and Viva "Salvando al soldado Pérez"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the soundtrack was incredible, the score and the songs, all delivering the right tone for the screenplay, the actors and everything that takes life on the screen!!!!!!!
