Most would agree, Jj Abrams has had a successful career which has gone from strength to strength. Undoubtedly, Star Wars now offers an opportunity for him to reach a creative zenith, but represents also his largest risk. His stylistic choices may not be to everyone’s tastes and he himself admits that there are elements over which he has an obsession (lens flares & secrecy) but these are still a matter of personal taste (I’m ambivalent over the former, and truly appreciate the latter). All that aside, outside his burgeoning film directing career, as an executive producer Abrams has been responsible for an incredible amount of television in a very small space of time. »
Julia is a reporter, and like Lefevre's other recent TV roles as doctors, she is a strong, determined woman. This time, however, Lefevre didn't shadow a journalist to inform her character.
"Normally when I am playing a certain profession, I do spend time with cops and doctors," she tells Zap2it from Wilmington, N.C., where the show was shooting. "There is something about playing a journalist, as a solo mission, and it is something one can excel at or be bad at. I was less interested in the skill and more interested in what kind of person becomes a journalist."
Julia is a doctor's wife, or as the audience knows from the show's beginning, a doctor's widow, so Julia would have more money than most print reporters working on a small-town daily. »

John Leguizamo's last effort to get a show on ABC didn't work out -- the network passed on "The Kings of Van Nuys," a comedy he starred in, last season.
He's taking another shot with the network, though, this time with a show based on his own life.
Leguizamo will star in a pilot based loosely on his life as a husband and father living on Manhattan's affluent Upper West Side while trying to stay connected to his roots in the Bronx. Leguizamo also co-wrote the story for the pilot with Chris Sheridan ("Family Guy," "Titus").
Other pilot news:
- Kevin Pollak ("The Usual Suspects," "Shark") has joined the cast of CBS' "Beverly Hills Cop" series, which stars Brandon T. Jackson as the son of Axel Foley (Eddie Murphy, who will appear in and is an executive producer of the pilot). He'll play the in-house counsel for the Beverly Hills Pd, »
