Trivia

The Unit, the cover name for the most elite 1st SFOD-D unit popularly known as "Delta Force", the Army's best of the best, primarily recruits from Army Special Forces Groups ("Green Berets") and the 75th Ranger Regiment (Army Rangers). In The Unit, Jonas Blane, Hector Williams, and Charles Grey all served as both Rangers and Green Berets prior to their service in The Unit. Mack Gerhardt served as a Ranger and in the airborne infantry prior to being in The Unit. Bob Brown is the only Unit member to have never served in the Rangers. He is Ranger qualified (graduated from Ranger School) and served in the Air Cavalry prior to joining the Unit. See more »

Goofs

In an Army unit there would actually been several layers of command between the Colonel (later Brigadier General) and The Unit itself. This would have included at least one Major or Captain and one or more Lieutenants. While the Colonel would have overall operational command at the base level, the junior officers would likely have had more of a direct command and control responsibility for the enlisted personnel. Mamet saves the day.
21 July 2006 | by (Virginia Beach, United States) – See all my reviews

David Mamet, one of the best writers today, made a series that expresses his talent as one of the best writer/directors! This series has a story that can keep giving, time and time again.

Especially a show that really expresses a dramatic POV of a US solider. The fact that it shows a secret agency that really does this adds more charm and appeal to this show.

To me, you can't go wrong with anything that David Mamet has done! Anyone who says this show is poorly done hasn't seen it!

Denis Haysbert really adds a cool quality that fans will love. And for those you are Michael Mann fans find enjoyment in this little treasure, as well.

I love the way the story moves quickly from one action to the other, classic Mamet. 10 out of 10!
