Starry Eyes’: The feel disturbed movie of the year

This film is at its very core a success story. A very demented, gory, horrifying and darkly comical success story – one with tinges of satanic cult horror wrapped in psychological terror. The plot follows a young aspiring actress, Sarah, as she is called back to audition for a horror film that is being produced by a mysterious production company that pushes her to her limits – a dark exchange for fame and fortune… click here to read the article.

Arrow Recap: Love Hurts

19 November 2014 6:53 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

This week on The CW’s Arrow, the titular vigilante found himself in the sights of a most ardent admirer, while Oliver himself was led to wonder if he missed the mark with Felicity.

First and foremost — and maybe I say this as a man who loves women (and can at times have a proclivity for redheads) — welcome to the Arrowverse, Carrie “Crazy Pants” “Cupid” Cutter. Supernatural mom Amy Gumenick had a fine showing in her debut, to the point that, well, I was rooting for the Arrow to, you know, “indulge” her fantasy for a couple of weeks. Lord knows, »

Supernatural: Season 10 Ratings

19 November 2014 12:27 PM, PST | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

Last season, Supernatural was the only TV show on The CW that was up in the ratings year-to-year. Will that ascent continue or will the ratings fall? How long can this series continue? Cancelled or renewed for season 11? Stay tuned.

On Supernatural, the Winchester brothers, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles), continue their fight against the evil forces of the underworld. Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard return in recurring roles.

The ratings are typically the best indication of a show's likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available -- typically the following morning, around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to see the latest.

11/19 update: You can see the rest of the latest night's ratings. »

Supernatural Alum Takes Up Cupid's Bow After Losing Black Canary Role

Tonight, The CW's latest offering of Arrow finds Oliver dealing with an obsessive stalker bent on putting all of the Arrow's enemies in a bodybag.  The role of Cupid will be played by Amy Gumenick, who previously portrayed Mary Winchester on Supernatural.  Originally, Gumenick tested for the role of Laurel Lance on Arrow but that role obviously went to Katie Cassidy, another CW alum - Supernatural, Melrose Place, Gossip Girl.   She told The Warp, "I auditioned for [Arrow] several times.  I first auditioned when they were casting the pilot, actually, for Katie Cassidy's role.  It was a show I wanted to be a part of.  I've since then auditioned for various other guest stars and recurring [roles] here and there, but the one didn't hit.  But [Rapaport] is a loyal and an amazingly down to earth person who really believes in his actors. Is Oliver Ready for Love? 'Arrow' Co-Star Weighs the Odds!

19 November 2014 9:43 AM, PST | Entertainment Tonight | See recent Entertainment Tonight news »

It’s no secret Arrow’s Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) hasn’t had the greatest luck in the romance department. Unfortunately for Starling City’s ex-millionaire, The CW hero is about to meet the most dangerous admirer of them all: the vigilante’s self-proclaimed No. 1 fan Carrie Cutter -- the lethal villainess, Cupid -- portrayed by Swedish-born actress Amy Gumenick.

Cupid is the god of love in classic mythology, but the DC Comics character – an enemy of the Arrow and Black Canary (Katie Cassidy) – is a dark twist to the romantic icon who has a, shall we say... intense take on relationships, going so far as to kill. (Beware future suitors!) Considering that she’s infatuated with all facets of the vigilante, Carrie may not be someone anyone from Team Arrow would want to encounter.

In Episode 307 of The CW drama series Arrow, entitled “Draw Back Your Bow,” we get a deeper exploration of the Arrow-obsessed serial killer that we have only just gotten a glimpse of.  Carrie Cutter (Amy Gumenick), aka Cupid, is convinced that The Arrow (Stephen Amell) is her one true love and will stop at nothing, no matter how deadly, to get his attention. During this exclusive phone interview with Collider, actress Amy Gumenick talked about having no idea which character she was actually up for when she auditioned, what an honor it is to bring to life a character that was created for the comics by executive producer Andrew Kreisberg (the writer of the Green Arrow/Black Canary comic book series, at the time), who Cupid is and what her motives are, what it is about The Arrow that attracted her attention, why The Arrow is caught off guard by Cupid, »

Albeit three months early for Valentine’s Day, Cupid makes her bow tonight on Arrow (The CW, 8/7c), setting her sights on Starling City’s enigmatic vigilante and anyone who ostensibly could come between them.

Amy Gumenick — whose previous TV credits include AMC’s Turn and the role of Supernatural‘s Young Mary Winchester — shared with TVLine a look at Cupid’s mission and whether the Arrow’s super-ardent admirer might figure in the ongoing “Who killed Sara?” mystery.

Weekly Ratings: Three-Show Crossover Stunt Lifts NBC to Top

19 November 2014 5:48 AM, PST | Variety - TV News | See recent Variety - TV News news »

NBC took the sweeps staple of crossover storylines to a new level last week, as a running plot involving characters from the net’s three Dick Wolf dramas produced a ratings surge for each show. The stunt, along with “Sunday Night Football,” “The Blacklist” and three nights of “The Voice” carried the Peacock to a ratings victory in key demos.

In a down week for CBS, NBC also scored a rare victory in total viewers —  its first for a full week in the November sweep since 2002, and its first in any sweep month (excluding Olympics weeks) since the week of the “Friends” finale in May 2004.

“Sunday Night Football,” featuring a great quarterback matchup between Tom Brady’s New England Patriots and Andrew Luck’s Indianapolis Colts produced strong ratings (7.1/19 in 18-49, 20.82 million viewers overall), standing as the week’s No. 2 primetime show in 18-49 and No. 1 in total viewers, according to Nielsen. »

Supernatural season 10 episode 6 review: Ask Jeeves

19 November 2014 4:51 AM, PST | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

The Winchesters pay homage to the murder mystery genre in this week's comedic episode. Here's Becky's review...

This review contains spoilers.

10.6 Ask Jeeves

Given how strong the 200th episode, Fan Fiction, was, I was a little worried that what followed it might be a dip in quality, particularly if we were swiftly dropped back into Winchester angst immediately. Instead, Ask Jeeves opts for the comedic approach and it makes for a great follow-up as the boys find themselves in a real-life version of Clue (Cluedo for us UK residents). Bobby’s old phone receives a message from the estate of Bunny Lacroix, a wealthy lady with one of those big houses adorned with a Beethoven doorbell. Cases are lacking so Sam and Dean head across to New Canaan, Connecticut where they swiftly become embroiled in family squabbles and the odd murder or two. Or four.

The Clue-esque aspects ensure that »

Gotham 1.6 Blog: Spirit Of The Goat Review [Contains Spoilers]

Writer: Ben Edlund

Cast: Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, David Mazouz, Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Jada Pinkett Smith, Camren Bicondova, Cory Michael Smith, Zabryna Guevara, Makenzie LeighDavid Zayas and John Doman.

Synopsis: When a killer begins targeting the first born of Gotham’s elite, Bullock is forced to confront traumatic memories from a nearly identical case he worked in the past. Also, Gordon is confronted by past decisions that have come back to haunt him.

So, last weeks Gotham didn’t exactly hit the mark with it’s half-hearted attempt to introduce some of the more fantastical elements of the DC universe to it’s world of colourful television characters. The obviously Arrow-inspired storyline involved a super-strength inducing drug, that essentially acted as a prototype formula to the famous ‘venom’ frequently utilised by Bane in the comics. It’s safe to say that this narrative sidestep was slightly under-written, »

Is Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Ward Officially Beyond Redemption? Our Rants and Raves

Tonight on TV, Agents of Shield did a whole bunch of things, and The Flash finally got his name. Meanwhile, Supernatural did it with the candlestick in the library while Mindy made us cringe with embarrassment.  All that and more in tonight's Rants and Raves! Rant: Agents of Shield: So many great things are going on, but the fact that they're all going on at once is sort of preventing this show from really being the show we want it to be. It's so close, but we'd just like a little more focus. That said, everything that is happening is super cool, and the '40s flashbacks are only making us way more excited for the upcoming Agent Carter.
