ABC’s ‘V’ Gets A Premiere Date

  • Screen Rant
ABC has announced the premiere date for their re-imagining of the 1980’s sci-fi series called V.

The airdate we can now all start looking forward to is Tuesday, November 3rd at 8:00 p.m., Et/Pt.

Below is the press release description of ABC’s outline of the show:

V is a re-imagining of the 1980s miniseries about the world’s first encounter with an alien race. Simultaneously appearing over every major city in the world, the Visitors (or V’s) promote a message of peace. Through their generous offer to share advanced technology, the V’s build a following that may actually hide a more malevolent agenda, one that twists a very deep component of human nature — devotion.

While the world quickly becomes fascinated with the V’s and their link to wonders just beyond the reach of human understanding, FBI Counter Terrorist Agent Erica Evans (Elizabeth Mitchell) discovers

About 20 Jackson cousins - ranging in ages over five decades - sat in the front row of folding chairs on the infield of the packed RailCats’ Us Steel Yard

Drama pilots land at ABC, Fox

Drama pilots land at ABC, Fox
Three drama projects have received pilot orders.

ABC has given the green light to a corporate soap from Reunion co-creator Jon Feldman, while Fox has picked up a cop show from writer-producers Allan Loeb and Christian Taylor and a thriller from "24" creator Bob Cochran and writer David Ehrman.

The untitled Jon Feldman project, from Warner Bros. TV, revolves around four dysfunctional but lovable CEOs. The project, which Feldman wrote and will executive produce, originally was given a put pilot commitment (HR 8/24).

The Loeb/Taylor project, tentatively titled New Amsterdam, hails from Regency TV. It centers on a man cursed with immortality who works as a homicide detective in New York.

Feature writer-producer Loeb and Taylor (ABC's Miracles) penned the script for the project and are executive producing the pilot with Loeb's producing partner Steven Pearl. The project originally was picked up by Fox with a script commitment plus penalty (HR 11/6).

The untitled NSA project, written by Cochran and Ehrman, centers on an everyday family man -- a midlevel employee at a Lockheed Martin-type company -- who finds himself caught up against his will in the world of espionage when he is recruited by the National Security Agency to spy on his boss.

An untitled drama from Reunion co-creator Jon Feldman is said to have landed at ABC with a put pilot commitment. Meanwhile, Fox has given a put pilot commitment to Fault Line, a drama from Becky Hartman-Edwards. Both projects hail from Warner Bros. TV. Details on the Jon Feldman project were sketchy Wednesday, but it is said to revolve around CEOs gone wild. Feldman is the writer/executive producer. Fault Line (working title) centers on a top orthopedic surgeon and mother who faces the challenges of re-entering the dating scene and co-parenting after a separation.

Ex-ICM agent Etz joins CAA

Nancy Etz has joined CAA as an agent in the TV literary department. Etz is one of nine ICM agents let go in the wake of ICM's purchase of the Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency, which was announced last week (HR 7/31). She is the first one to land at a new company. Etz, an 11-year ICM veteran, most recently worked with such clients as Emmy-winning director-producer Alex Graves (The West Wing), Emmy-nominated writer Michael Caleo (The Sopranos), WGA-nominated writer Joel H. Cohen (The Simpsons), Maggie Friedman (Jack & Bobby), director Jon Amiel (Fox's Reunion), writer-producer Saladin K. Patterson (NBC's Frasier) and producer Ken Topolsky (CBS' Clubhouse). It is not clear which clients will follow her to CAA. While at ICM, Etz also guided the TV career of Everwood creator Greg Berlanti and his rise from a rookie staff writer on WB Network's Dawson's Creek to a sought-after creator-showrunner.

Broadcasters on axed serials: The way you remedy it is ...
PASADENA -- By far, the issue du jour thrust most repeatedly at the network suits during this Television Critics Assn. summer press tour has revolved around serialized dramas. The burning question among a group of writers in search of a story is how broadcasters planned to remedy the problem of viewers being left high and dry when programs with recurring story lines get pulled from the air early and saddle the audience with no closure and feeling all discombobulated and out of sorts and all-around sucky and ... well ... kinda like that. Last on the firing line: Fox entertainment president Peter Liguori, the affable former head of FX, who on Monday morning was immediately asked to explain why -- given the way Fox gave a quick hook to the handled oh-so-serialized drama Reunion last season -- people should be expected to invest in the new serial drama Vanished (an ironic title in the current environment if ever there was one).

Michaels has 'Love' for USA

Michaels has 'Love' for USA
Saturday Night Live chief Lorne Michaels is venturing into cable with To Love and Die in L.A., a comedic hour at USA Network. The network has given a cast-contingent pilot order to the project from Michael's Broadway Video TV and NBC Universal TV Studio. Reunion co-creator Sara Goodman penned the script of the pilot, about a fun-loving young woman with abandonment issues who decides that her dating problems will be resolved if she tracks down the father she never knew. When the woman finds him, she discovers that he is an assassin and realizes she might have found her calling.

Nine Network passes 4 WB shows to Ten

Nine Network passes 4 WB shows to Ten
SYDNEY -- Australia's Nine Network has sublicensed four key Warner Bros. dramas to Network Ten in a bid to give Ten added depth of product while allowing Nine to offload some of the unwanted programming from its Warner Bros. output deal. The deal was confirmed Wednesday in an interview with Ten CEO Grant Blackley. Under the deal, which is believed to have cost Ten about AUS$4 million ($3 million), Ten picks up dramas Veronica Mars, Smallville, Reunion and Supernatural for its primetime schedule. The Ten deal also includes the series' back catalog, giving the network 66 episodes in total, lasting for the full run of each series.

ABC, CBS, Fox make rookie cancellations

It's the end of the road for three freshman series: ABC's Hot Properties, CBS' Threshold and Fox's Reunion. ABC has opted not to pick up additional episodes from Hot Properties, sources said. The Warner Bros. TV comedy has completed its original 13-episode order and will stay on the air through December. After a sluggish start in its original Friday 9 p.m. slot and equally soft results from the trial move of Threshold to the Tuesday 10 p.m. slot last week, the Paramount Network TV sci-fi drama will be taken off the schedule for the last Tuesday of the November sweep this week, replaced by a repeat of CBS' promising new crime drama Criminal Minds.
