'CSI' leads CBS to Thursday win again

18 November 2005 | The Hollywood Reporter | See recent The Hollywood Reporter news »

CBS towered over the competition again Thursday with CSI: Crime Scene Investigation leading the charge as usual. NBC had a good night with ER, which pulled it out in the stretch to narrowly top CBS' Without a Trace in the adults 18-49 demographic, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research. CBS opened the night far atop the playing field with Survivor: Guatemala, which reeled in 19 million viewers and 6.3 rating/17 share in adults 18-49. NBC's Joey (8.1 million, 3.2/9) had an uptick in the hour, as did 8:30 p.m.'s Will & Grace (8.9 million, 3.8/10). Fox was in more lackluster territory with The O.C. (6.1 million, 2.7/7), which was almost beaten by WB Network's Smallville (5.8 million, 2.5/7). UPN was solid at 8 p.m. with Everybody Hates Chris (5.3 million, 2.0/6), but the rest of the network's comedy block has had a hard time holding that momentum, particularly 8:30 p.m.'s Love, Inc. (3.7 million, 1.5/4). »
