A touching saga on parental love and affection
23 September 2005 | by (India) – See all my reviews

Raapakal is one of those touching movies to have come out in Malayalam in the recent times. It cannot be hailed as a classic by any means. But quite a few touching moments make this movie a must-watch for any drama movie buff.

Mammootty has come up with one of his natural best performances ever. Sarada's return to Malayalam cinema after a short break is also perfect. Although the movie lags a bit at times, in the end you wont feel tired as the climax includes a short suspense and some touching moments to keep you busy.

On the downside Mammootty looks a bit too old for the character. He should have played the character at least 10 years back. Or they should have chosen an actress much older than Sarada. They look more like brother and sister than son and mother.

All in all, highly recommended for soulful cinema lovers.
