12 November 2014 7:57 AM, PST | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

As Netflix continues to assert itself as a major television company with such acclaimed series as House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, Amazon Studios is racing to catch up by ordering series it hopes will be equally well-received. Enclosed are descriptions of all seven pilots, courtesy of Deadline. The talented involved on all of them is impressive, to say the least. Mad Dogs comes from Cris Cole (The Bill) and Shawn Ryan (The Shield), while The Man In The High Castle hails from Frank Spotnitz (The X-Files). Scrotal Recall: don't be put off by the title

30 September 2014 9:15 AM, PDT | Den of Geek | See recent Den of Geek news »

Underneath its laddish title is a new comedy with a surprising amount of heart. Here's our preview of Channel 4's Scrotal Recall...

Channel 4's latest, arrestingly titled, comedy series begins with a rude awakening. Dylan Witter has tested positive for chlamydia and he doesn't know from whom he contracted it. Along with his lothario best friend Luke, he must build up the courage to contact all of his sexual partners and inform them. You could see it as a new take on My Name Is Earl but with STDs instead of karma.

Let's deal with the elephant in the room here. There are going to be a lot of people taking one look at the name and possibly writing this series off based on that alone. It's obviously going to be the first question I asked series creator and writer, Tom Edge. "It was kind of a joke for the producers. »
