Guillermo del Toro, the man behind Pan's Labyrinth, Pacific Rim, and the upcoming Crimson Peak has put his idea for a new Star Wars film out into the universe in an interview with Yahoo Movies. Hollywood is populated with directors who grew up on Star Wars. J.J. Abrams, Gareth Edwards, Rian Johnson, and Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are all at various stages of their own projects set in a galaxy far, far away and del Toro, speaking strictly as a fan, has expressed his idea for what his movie would be about if given the chance, as he's very specific about the fact this is merely him talking, there's nothing offiicial about this, which, sort of makes it all the more fun. This is not real, this is me as a fat geek just geeking out and talking about it. I would do the sort of Godfather saga that »

The Joker, Sailor Moon and nerdy ladies were the big winners at the Her Universe Fashion Show last night. It’s an event where strutting down the runway were women wearing a Greek goddess-esque dress version of Groot, an elegant winter coat modeled after the Tardis, and a frock with a skirt shaped and detailed to look like the Death Star, among other high fashion takes on characters beloved by nerdy fans. In its second year at San Diego Comic-Con, the fashion show crowned two winners from the 25 finalists who submitted “geek couture” designs to Her Universe, the sci-fi fashion apparel company behind the event. The judging panel-selected winner was a design called “Joker’s New Look,” designed and modeled by Kelly Cercone. The attendee-voted top prize went to a “Sailor Moon” design called “Usagi’s Transformation,” which was designed by Leetal Platt and modeled by fan-favorite cosplayer Chloe Dykstra. »

Cartoons generally fall into one of two categories: those for kids and those more appropriate for older audiences. Every so often, something will come along that kids and parents (or just older fans) can enjoy together all on the same level. "Star Wars Rebels" fills that niche and is yet another reason that this is a great time to be a Star Wars fan. The first season of "Star Wars Rebels" had its growing pains, as all shows will in their first season, but by building on the storytelling success that was the hallmark of the later seasons of "Star Wars: The Clone Wars", it quickly found its groove. Merging the cobbled-together family dynamic of a show like "Firefly" and the larger Star Wars universe, it could tell stories set in a time period ripe for exploration. Star Wars Rebels is set to return to Disney Xd in the States tonight for a special double-length season two premiere entitled ‘The Siege of Lothal’, which will see Darth Vader out for vengeance against Ezra and the crew of the Ghost for their actions against the Empire in the first season of the animated series.
Speaking to MTV, creator Dave Filoni has been discussing Vader’s involvement in the show, stating that: “I think you don’t want to overuse a character like that, and you don’t want to have characters like Darth Vader in a situation where he’s going to lose relentlessly. As we were figuring out the story of the rebels in Season 1, we didn’t want to put Vader in that position. So we waited until their skills kind of grew and as a group they became more formidable. We thought, ‘Okay, after Season »

Recently Angelina Jolie sat down with “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” mystery man Domhnall Gleeson to talk about fame, life, and the Movie That Must Not Be Named™ for Interview Magazine. While the whole piece is worth a read, this exchange halfway through cemented Jolie as a Star Wars fan. Jolie: I'm personally a Boba Fett fan. [Gleeson laughs] Gleeson: Well, you make a phone call and I'm pretty sure, Angie, that they'll have you in, in a second. Jolie: Can Boba Fett have a missus? Well, put in a good word for me, then. I know she was (probably) joking, but this sounds like just about the best fan casting ever! If the rumors swirling about a Boba Fett stand-alone movie are true, is it too late to write Angelina Jolie in? I mean, we already Have Fett’s origin story. From his birth and childhood through his father’s »

Warning. Spoilers follow…
Back in April 2014, Disney announced that it was introducing a new canon for Star Wars, which would consist of the original six movies, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and all subsequent Lucasfilm releases going forward. Not just movies and animated series, but books, comics, video games and so on. With that being said, Marvel’s Star Wars #6 has just introduced a huge change to the Star Wars canon. Take a look…
Yes, you read that correctly. Han Solo – who spent much of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi wooing Princess Leia – is a married man. Or at least, he is between A New Hope and Empire, which is when this comic takes place.
This is where The Force Awakens comes in. It’s rumour and speculation, but if you don’t want to run the risk of being spoiled, turn back now…
Now, when Episode VII was first announced, »

It seems the closer we get to the release of the first movie in the new era of Star Wars films, the more begins to float downstream. Whether it's the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, its sequels or one of the Star Wars: Anthology films (stories that take place within the Star Wars universe), there is always some measure of speculation to discuss. To that point, the website Schmoes Know has dropped a few fascinating rumors about two of the Anthology titles and other potential projects. A second film in the Anthology series for 2018 has previously been reported to focus in on villainous bounty hunter Boba Fett. Chronicle director Josh Trank had been attached to direct, but left the role last month. Schmoes Know provides speculation for both the plot of the upcoming film and who might fill the empty position. According to their source, »

Is there any way to get on an old school Star Wars fan's good side quicker than teasing the death of controversial character Jar Jar Binks? J.J. Abrams wants to hide the much-hated Gugan's bones in the Jakku desert as a Star Wars: The Force Awakens Easter egg. But it sounds like he hasn't quite made up his mind. The director revealed his plans from the edit bay as the anticipated sequel continues to come together, stating:
"I have a thought about putting Jar Jar Binks's bones in the desert there. I'm serious! Only three people will notice, but they'll love it."
Star Wars: The Force Awakens has original fans excited for Star Wars once again, after the prequel trilogy did a lot to curb their enthusiasm. While younger audiences certainly enjoyed the last three films, older fans had quite a bit to complain about. And one of »

Begun, the Clone Wars has in the upcoming Disney Infinity 3.0 game as a second European retailer leak has outed the game's Starter Pack and surprising inclusive figures.
The idea that Star Wars would be at the forefront of Disney Infinity 3.0 has been around for months and wryly confirmed by Avalanche Software and Disney Interactive in various remarks dropped during that time. With a Force renaissance or rebirth rapidly approaching later this year with the theatrical release of Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, it makes all the sense in the world for Disney to use Star Wars this year for the third Disney Infinity installment.
What's frankly shocking about this leak from German retailer Saturn is that the Disney Infinity 3.0 Starter Pack comes packaged with two characters, Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker, based on the cancelled Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV show that ran for five seasons on the Cartoon Network. »
Director Genndy Tartakovsky is responsible for some of the coolest animated shows to hit TV, including Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: The Clone Wars (mini-series). "I would love to be disciplined, like not eat anything for four months, and be shredded and do the whole tattoo body effect like you see in the comics and the novels. I'd love to do that! If Darth Maul was coming back, he should be topless, tattooed, bigger horns, robotic legs! I would love to do it!"
Of course, a Darth Maul stand alone movie has not been confirmed by Disney and LucasFilm quite yet, and it »
