Seven years ago, Walter and Sheree Carter picked up their family and moved from Cincinatti to Charleston, W.Va., so Sheree could attend college. She completed her teaching degree last year after years of balancing part-time jobs and raising her five children. Currently, Walter and Sheree live with their children, J.C., Jeray, Jordan, Joshua and Jala, in a small four bedroom apartment. There is no safe place for their children to play outside; they regularly hear gunfire and the children have even found needles in the street. The Carters can't wait to move into a safe neighborhood where they can decorate their own house the way they want and plant flowers. Their dreams will finally come true with the help of John Littlefield, Heather Simpson, the Habitat for Humanity Home Blitz Build Team and country music sensation Brad Paisley. In two short weeks the Carter family will help build their house -- the 101st built by the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate.
