When her brother decides to ditch for a couple weeks, Viola heads over to his elite boarding school, disguised as him, and proceeds to fall for one of his soccer teammates, and soon learns she's not the only one with romantic troubles.
Kate (Brittany Snow) is the new girl in school. She catches John Tucker (Jesse Metcalfe) dating three different girls at once: Carrie - the smart girl, Heather - the cheerleader, and Beth - the activist slut; none of them are aware that they are not the only girl in John's heart. Kate, having been raised by a single mother, has seen the pain caused by playboys like John Tucker, and she won't stand idly by. John Tucker Must Die is a passable romantic comedy that lacks satirical bite and the courage of its convictions. Jesse Metcalfe is John Tucker the high school basketball star and heartthrob who is dating three girls simultaneously. They are Heather the cheerleader (Ashanti) Carrie (Arielle Kebbel) and Beth (Sophia Bush.)
Kate Spencer (Brittany Snow) is the new girl who is always moving town from town as her hot mother goes from one unsuitable boyfriend to another. Kate is invisible, no one notices her. It is her who suggests that the three girls should get revenge on John Tucker and show him the error of his ways. The girls decide that Kate should be the one who breaks his heart and attempt to maker desirable despite her inexperience with men. She also gets friendly at high school with John's other brother Scott who is less sexy.
Of course you never for a moment buy Kate as invisible as she is rather appealing played Brittany Snow. The story should had been more darkly wicked but it is just inoffensively bland but charming.
