All's Fair In Business Too
25 January 2009 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Essentially a comedy about the cut throat advertising business, this film stars the very pretty Ching Li as Helen, whose father owns the Rose Nylon Company. Sales have been faltering and Helen, newly returning from a London business school, is put in charge of advertising. Various schemes ensue, the most potent one being Helen disguising herself and taking a job as a secretary with a rival nylon company to get scoops on their latest advertising ideas. The gist of the film is that you do whatever you need to do to exceed, and that is exactly what happens here. There are a few songs and this film is partly a slapstick comedy, but its also a real vision of business tactics. I would recommend the 50's Japanese film "Giants And Toys" to any marketing major first, but that film was much more serious. I think anyone interested in running a business should watch it, you'll get an eye opening and, more than you want, real view of the business world. Also see it to watch the actress Ching Li, who is always fun to watch in her films. I would recommend this.
