Storyline

The story begins in Egypt, where Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad are being attacked by an oversize poodle, who kills Frylock before being destroyed by Shake. Shake and Meatwad drive off with Frylock's corpse, and meet Time Lincoln, who plans to revive Frylock; however, when the CIA break into his house, the Aqua Teens flee in his wooden rocket ship, and Time Lincoln is shot. This, however, is all revealed to be an elaborate story concocted by Shake to explain the ATHF's origin to Meatwad. Shake then explains to Meatwad that women are only attracted to great bodies, then heads off to work out on his new exercise machine, the Insane-O-Flex. Together, they go in search of a missing piece of an exercise machine that happens to be more than an exercise machine, placing them on a collision course with the likes of Oglethorpe and Emory, a pair of jagged, ridiculous creatures from the future who travel with a robot companion claiming to be the Ghost of Christmas Past. They also encounter Dr... Written by Anthony Pereyra {hypersonic91@yahoo.com}

Trivia

Cartoon Network launched a guerrilla marketing campaign to promote this film in January 2007. Dozens of electronic devices with blinking lights were surreptitiously posted in various locations in major US cities. When lit, an image of a Mooninite extending its middle finger appeared. On January 31, 2007, the Boston Police received several reports of suspicious devices in several locations, including on a bridge support beam in a subway station beneath a major highway. The devices caused a major security scare, and bomb squads and emergency personnel were deployed. The two men who installed the devices around Boston were arrested and charged with several counts of placing a hoax device to incite panic, a felony. Turner Broadcasting, Cartoon Network's parent company, and Interference, Inc., the marketing company that created the campaign, reached a settlement with city and state officials to resolve any civil or criminal claims. The companies agreed to pay $1 million to the Boston police department, and $1 million to fund Homeland Security. Jim Samples, head of Cartoon Network, resigned. The two men who planted the devices were sentenced to community service. See more »

Loved it!
21 April 2007 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

I'm 51 years old -- a suburban housewife. My son, now 11, introduced me to ATHF 4 years ago. At first, I tuned out. Then I got hooked. Now we have almost all of their videos and the show is my favorite on TV.

My son and I just got back from seeing the film. It's brilliant. I laughed out loud almost the entire time and it's not easy to get me to laugh out loud at the movies.

Like some have said -- one either gets Aqua Teen or one doesn't. I feel lucky to be among the former and am proud that my son is astute enough to appreciate the humor also ... The show is a terrific send-up of just about everything imaginable -- including trite movie conventions -- and the film did not disappoint. That being said, you have to let yourself get ready to trip, and I did have to assure the young man selling me the tickets that my son and I knew what we were getting into. Honestly, it's not that shocking and the vulgarities are delivered so deftly and speedily that one hardly has time to focus or dwell.
