'Leonard Snart' aka 'Captain Cold' was created by writer John Broome and illustrator Carmine Infantino as the leader of the 'Rogues' and amortal enemy to 'Barry Allen' aka 'The Flash'.
Snart has no innate superhuman powers, relying on his 'cold guns' and instincts. Over the years Snart had modified his weapons to allow a variety of effects such as a cold beam that freezes anything it hits instantly, creating a cold field where people and objects literally stop in their tracks.
Cold uses this ability to slow down The Flash's movements, bathing his opponent in a wide beam of ice designed to freeze the skin.

We’re now 52 days away from the premiere of The Flash on the CW, a number that’s very near and dear to the folks over at DC Comics. In fact, they named their gigantic company-wide relaunch in 2011 “The New 52.” To celebrate the occasion, The CW released a new official image of series star Grant Gustin in costume as the titular scarlet speedster on Twitter…
This is a great shot of the costume (much better than the first, poorly Photoshopped images we got a few months back), that shows off a nice, clean look at Gustin as Barry Allen, as well as some of the detail of the Flash suit. As you can see, despite a few small touches and a leather material, the design itself is pretty close to the iconic comic book design.
What do you think of this shot of Gustin as the Flash? Are you a fan of the costume? »

The Expendables 3 is the latest installment of the cheese-tastic, 1980s style, throwback action franchise. You may not think of this series of films as anything more than an exercise in geriatric yoga for the addled action stars of yore. But, the fact is The Expendables (2010) made $275M on an $80M budget and The Expendables 2 (2012) made $305M on a $100M budget. And that is serious worldwide box-office business.
The Expendables 3 involves some unfinished business. As it turns out, Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone), had a partner who co-founded the group with him (a new background detail sheds some light on the team’s bloody history), Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who is out to wipe out the entire team – especially Barney. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes, a young filmmaker with only two prior films to his credit. (No you never heard of either of them.) The writing team is led by Sylvester Stallone, »

“I am so done with you.” Emily’s words to Alison on Tuesday’s Pretty Little Liars may have seemed harsh, but honestly, can you blame her?

These girls have risked everything — their reputations, their sanity, their lives — to help her over the past few years, and she finally went too far this week by falsely identifying Cyrus as her kidnapper. In fact, she “remembered” an entire scenario in which Cyrus mugged her and left her with that scar on her thigh. But did any of that even happen? »
What a wonderful coincidence: just as a big budget movie version of Guardians Of The Galaxy is released Marvel begins publishing a new run featuring the film’s break out character (*sideways glance at camera, raises eyebrow*).
Publishing decent comics that hook in new readers attracted by other forms of media is something that Marvel is really good at (take note DC), and once I had heard that both writing and art duties on Rocket Raccoon would be handled by Skottie Young, I was pretty stoked about this new series. So here we are, two issues in, and it looks like my excitement was justified: Rocket Raccoon is a riot - quite literally at one point.
First, a quick bit of backstory: this issue picks »
There are many moments of reckoning in the life of a TV show – the initial pick-up, the second season opener, every mid-season lull. Season four, however, is perhaps the trickiest of all. At this point, a show has long-since established its core, loyal audience, but needs to re-invent itself in some way to keep that audience from getting bored, and widen it to include new viewers. USA Network seem confident in the ability of the creative team behind Suits to succeed in this moment of truth, however, and have renewed the show for a fifth season.
When it first appeared on the schedules in 2011, Suits was a show focused on Mike (Patrick J Adams) – a gifted college drop-out with a self-generated career taking exams for other people. After foiling a sting operation designed to entrap his best friend – whose own career path of drug-dealing is inevitably doomed – Mike is hired »

Well, the big showdown between Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Captain America 3 is no more, with Warner Bros. blinking and shifting the release of BvS away from Marvel’s May 6th 2016 date to March 25th 2016 (a wise move, considering it will now face very little in the way of competition). Kristen Stewart is still trying to distance herself from "Twilight," and the new trailer for the Sundance entry "Camp X-Ray" showcases what looks to be her heaviest role yet. Stewart plays a new guard at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, where -- like Clarice Starling in "Silence of the Lambs" -- she's told, "do not let them get inside your head." She soon finds that things aren't as black-and-white as she'd been told, and begins to forms an unlikely bond with one of the detainees, played by "A Separation" star Peyman Moaadi. You can watch the trailer embedded at the top of this post. Directed by first-timer Peter Slatter, "Camp X-Ray" also stars Lane Garrison ("Prison Break"), Julia Duffy ("Shameless"), and John Carroll Lynch ("Zodiac"). HitFix's Drew McWeeny gave the fim a "B" after seeing it at Sundance. "Camp X-Ray" opens in theaters and VOD October 28. What do you think of the trailer? »

In the film, Stewart plays a young female guard at Guantanamo Bay, who strikes up a relationship with one of the detainees (Payman Maadi, A Seperation). The film debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and while the reaction to the film was mixed, many critics have praised Stewart’s performance as possibly the best of her career so far.
Written and directed by Peter Sattler, Camp X-Ray is set for release October 17th in the States and features a cast that also includes John Carroll Lynch (Shutter Island), Lane Garrison (Prison Break), Joseph Julian Soria (Army Wives) and Cory Michael Smith (Gotham).

The DC villain character of Girder, aka Tony Woodward, is joining the cast of The CW's "The Flash".
In the comics Woodward was a bratty steelworker who was dunked in a vat of molten metal that had been tainted by S.T.A.R. Labs waste. He emerged as a mass of iron, impervious to most anything (except rust).
In the show, Woodward used to bully young Barry in the schoolyard, and is now can transmute any part of his body into solid steel. The role is said to be a recurring one and will be introduced in the sixth episode of the new season, but it hasn't been cast as yet.
