11 stars of classic '90s teen movies: Where are they now?

24 January 2015 1:00 AM, PST | Digital Spy | See recent Digital Spy - Movie News news »

Charlie Lyne's documentary Beyond Clueless harks back to the classic teen movies that shaped the '90s.

Featuring narration from The Craft's Fairuza Balk (and with clips of Robin Tunney, Devon Sawa and co), it made us feel a sudden pang of nostalgia and sent us on our own trip down memory lane to find out where they - and the rest of the '90s teen movie crew - are now.

So, here are 11 stars from some of our favourite '90s teen movies, and what they've gone on to do since:

1. Devon Sawa - Idle Hands (1999)

Dreamy Devon Sawa starred as lazy stoner Anton Tobias - who turns mass murderer after his hand becomes possessed - in the horror comedy Idle Hands.

He went on to play teenage prophet of doom Alex Browning in Final Destination (2000), and appeared as similarly unstable Stan in Eminem's controversial music »

The Flash 1.9 Blog: The Man In The Yellow Suit Review [Contains Spoilers]

23 January 2015 1:30 PM, PST | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Director: Ralph Hemecker

Writers: Todd Helbing & Aaron Helbing

Cast: Grant Gustin, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Rick Cosnett, Jesse L. Martin, John Wesley Shipp and Robbie Amell.

Synopsis: Barry finds himself face-to-face with his nemesis, the man in the yellow suit, a.k.a. Reverse Flash, who killed his mother.

Verdict:

After eight episodes of the superb superhero television show, we have now arrived at the mid-season finale. With the bar set higher than ever after Barry and his friends crossed paths with team Arrow in the preceding two-part story (check out my review), ‘The Man in The Yellow Suit’ has an awful lot to live up to. Thankfully, this delightfully festive story delivers yet another great hour of action, whilst also (finally) revealing the true identity of the man who murdered Barry’s mother.

The episode begins with a high-speed chase through central city between The Flash »

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Kaley Cuoco

CBS

Kaley Cuoco (or Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting if you’re willing to accept that the incredibly attractive star is married) shot to stardom as Penny (whose last name is still unknown incidentally, which is an interesting fact in itself) in the hugely successful CBS series The Big Bang Theory. Penny is the comparatively dimwitted co-star of a main cast of characters with Ph.D.’s (well, except from Howard Wolowitz – he “only” has a master’s degree) and she is one of the most popular characters on the show.

Having started acting at just six years of age, she had appeared on the likes of My So-Called Life, 8 Simple Rules, Charmed and Prison Break prior to her career-defining role.

Named as Fox’s Celebrity of the Year in 2014, Cuoco’s star has never shone brighter, with a huge profile and demand increasing for her services in movies, a hell of a »

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter to film this August

22 January 2015 9:44 AM, PST | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

You can’t keep a successful franchise down, not even with a newborn baby. Last year, Milla Jovovich and her husband director Paul W.S. Anderson announced they were expecting a second child together, which delayed the filming of the final film in the Resident Evil franchise, The Final Chapter. But word from Jovovich on her Facebook page suggests she is almost ready to return.

Says Jovovich, “I’m really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming Resident Evil- The Final Chapter in August of this year and I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously.”

Shooting was set to roll in Cape Town, South Africa for what is set to be the last part in the long-running Resident Evil franchise, after the last one part, Retribution, was released in 2012.

The Flash, Ep. 1.10, “Revenge of the Rogues” an infectiously fun blend of special effects, comedy and drama

The Flash, Season 1, Episode 10, “Revenge of the Rogues”

Written by Geoff Johns & Kai Yu Wu

Directed by Nick Copus

Airs Tuesdays at 8pm Et on the CW

The CW’s hit series came back from its mid-season break with “Revenge of the Rogues,” an action packed hour juggling many subplots and further building the DC universe. When last we saw our hero, he was defeated by the mysterious Man in the Yellow Suit, but thanks to a wild card in Firestorm, the Scarlett Speedster made out with his life. That encounter plays heavily into the show’s mid-season premiere which opens with Barry’s narration changed to reflect his battle with the Reverse Flash, followed by Barry working on improving his speed through various training exercises that force him to dodge drones piloted by Cisco (How cool was that?). While it might be quite some time before the Reverse-Flash is seen again, »

The Flash Recap: Running Hot 'n' Cold

20 January 2015 6:00 PM, PST | TVLine.com | See recent TVLine.com news »

This week on The CW’s The Flash, as Central City weathered both a nasty cold front and a gnarly heat wave, the scarlet speedster (as well as Cisco) lent a helping hand. Meanwhile, Caitlin made a curious discovery about her “dead” fiance’s new name.

“Revenge of the Rogues,” perhaps more than any episode to date, played like a live-action comic book – which is a good, good thing. As previously chronicled on these pages, I’ve always been a fan of the comics’ Captain Cold, so every moment in which Wentworth Miller let loose with the cold gun was pure joy. »

‘The Flash’ Preview: Captain Cold and Heat Wave Put Barry Through His Paces (Exclusive)

When “The Flash” returns from its winter break on Jan. 20, the CW drama wastes no time getting right back to the action, with Grant Gustin’s titular hero racing to improve his abilities in order to defeat the Man in the Yellow Suit — revealed to the audience in the midseason finale as none other than Barry’s Star Labs mentor, Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).

At the CW’s recent TCA Winter Press Tour presentation, the show’s producers and Cavanagh confirmed that Wells is indeed the villain known as Reverse Flash in DC Comics lore, but in a subsequent interview with Variety, Gustin cautioned, “That’s not necessarily the whole truth… There’s a lot more to it.”

The star added, “There are really still a lot of twists and turns with that. There’s still a big, big twist to come that caught me completely offguard when I heard about it. »

'Flash' guest star Dominic Purcell talks Heat Wave and his 'Prison Break' reunion

Vancouver, BC. It's a rainy October night in Vancouver, but on the location for The CW's "The Flash," they're having a Heat Wave. Sorry. Actually, out in the Vancouver street, it's The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) having a showdown on the rain-soaked pavement as umbrella wielding PAs stand by to shelter the two actors. Speaking of shelter, a small group of reporters is poised on a ledge 100 feet away from the street. We were given permission to shoot non-spoiler pictures from our distant pedestal and, with the light and the drizzle and my cell phone camera, this was the best I could do. At least The Flash is visible. We're scurrying in and out between the rain and a warm makeshift interview room in which we've talked to all of the "Flash" stars. That interview room is where we're having a Heat Wave, or at least »

"That was my initial motivation to do the show. Getting on set was a revelation. I'm enjoying myself wearing big, broad costumes, being as cheesy and as huge as you can possibly be. Yeah, it's ...

Prison Break: Fox Would Love to Revive the TV Show but...

Earlier today, Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman noted that they'd love to revive Prison Break, the action drama that starred Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller. It ran for four seasons and wrapped up with a movie.

Newman said, "There is some speculation in the press about Prison Break, which honestly was slightly news to us.... Although we’ve made it clear over the years to the studio that we would bring Prison Break back in a heartbeat."

He continued, "It’s probably the perfect event series. If our old partners in that show are interested, that would be great. But at the moment, we have nothing else to report."

Purcell and Miller are currently recurring in their roles as villains Heat Wave and Captain Cold on The Flash on The CW. That series was renewed for a second season earlier »
