sleeping pills

I cant believe i have to write 10 lines about this movie, i think i must have seen a completely different movie than the other people making comments on here. I certainly don't think i will be needing sleeping pills tonight, i am already half way there after watching this movie. It didn't go anywhere, wasn't believable in fact all in all was probably one of the most boring movies i have seen in a very long time. Sure, the acting might have been OK...but what was the purpose of it all ? Rebecca Gibney had an extremely small role for such an accomplished actor, maybe if her role was expanded it could have lifted the movie a little. How she can be praised for her role is beyond me...she added very little to a poor movie.

Amazing Independent Film

The 10 stars says it all.

This is one of the most awesome films I have ever seen.

Brett Climo is his usual amazing self, portraying McKenzies mental breakdown with such realism and compassion.

I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and on the verge of tears several times I cannot praise this film enough.

David Blake (the Director) is a genius, its such a shame this was a limited release film as the film deserves more recognition for its fearless approach than it did.

The supporting cast were fantastic too.

Rebecca Gibney gives one of the best performances of her career as McKenzies mum who is a battered wife - an unusual role for her but totally believable.

Sharn Hammond in her first leading role was sympathetic and very real as McKenzies girlfriend trying to work out what is going on, how to help and whether she can help him.

The cello led score creates the right atmosphere for the film and even overlaps the dialogue and then takes over so you just see the actors working with the dialogue and you just hear the score.

On the whole this is a multi layered, expertly acted and directed film that deserves a wider audience than it had.

Engrossing and Memorable

I found Lost and Found to be a thoroughly enjoyable film. The story deals with a sensitive topic in an engaging manner - I left the film wondering how I would deal with the circumstances faced by the characters. The characters are very real and very relevant to today's society - I'm sure most of the audience can relate to the characters and circumstances of the film.

The cast is strong and their performances powerful. In particular, Brett Climo as Mackenzie Morgan stands out. His character deftly moves from soft and lovable to confused and aggressive - this allows Climo to demonstrate his broad talents - and he does this to great effect.

The musical score was also a highlight for me. The extensive use of Cello created great atmosphere.

I can understand why this film is being compared to other great Australian dramas such as Lantana and Somersault!
