Fashion Flashback: Jada Pinkett Smith Remembers Bare Midriffs and Bold Colors for Oscar Night
Through her character in “Girls Trip,” Jada Pinkett Smith got to show a side of herself that audiences hadn’t seen. “I really related to Lisa because she’s a mother [whose] motherhood becomes her life,” says Pinkett Smith. “I know what that is.” One thing she has maintained is her flair for memorable looks on the red carpet. Here, she reflects on midriff tops, bold color and her favorite Oscar dress — worn the year her daughter Willow’s fever prompted her early departure. “That’s when you know what’s important in life, for real,” she says.

1997

The late Gianni Versace offered to dress Pinkett Smith and husband Will Smith that year. “I wanted to do something really different, and so, midriff … who does a midriff going the Oscars? With a diamond belly chain?” jokes Pinkett Smith, who still has that piece. She remembers feeling carefree: “We were so young then, and it was just like,

What’s Coming to Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime in November 2017
November may mean the end of Halloween, but that doesn’t mean that the creepy fun has to end as Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon continue to add some freaky films to November’s list of streaming content.

Netflix will start the month off with films like “Oculus” and “Silent Hill” for fans of big scares and “Casper” and “Scary Movie” for those who looking for a milder way to keep the Halloween spirit alive, and will also add in “9” and “Piranha” later in the month. For those who would rather leave the October spookiness behind, science fiction comedies like “Chappie” and “Men in Black” or family-friendly films like “Charlotte’s Web” and “The Boss Baby” should make for fun movie nights.

Hulu will also keep the frights coming with offerings like “Bram Stoker’s Dracula” and “Beowulf,” but will also get a headstart on the winter holiday season with “Christmas with the Cranks,” Happy Christmas,” and collection

Jimmy Kimmel Says Raising Kids with Money Is ‘Tricky’: ‘You Don’t Want to Just Hand Them Everything’

Jimmy Kimmel Says Raising Kids with Money Is ‘Tricky’: ‘You Don’t Want to Just Hand Them Everything’
Parenting has certainly changed for Jimmy Kimmel.

When the talk-show host welcomed his first two children, Kevin and Katie, he was not the star he is today — nor did he have the same income.

Posing for the cover of New York Magazine‘s latest issue, Kimmel told Vulture that he had his daughter when he was 24, and the family struggled to make ends meet. He lost his job doing morning radio in Tampa, Florida, so he had to move the family to Palm Springs, California.

“We moved across the country, and I would work from 4 in the morning till around 11 in the morning,

‘Mudbound’ Finally Hits Netflix Next Month, Plus Music and Film Documentaries

‘Mudbound’ Finally Hits Netflix Next Month, Plus Music and Film Documentaries
Fall is upon us, and with it a fresh new crop of Netflix movies to curl up with when the weather starts to turn. Next month’s most exciting addition to the streaming service is “Mudbound,” the Southern World Ward II epic from up-and-comer-turned-force-to-be-reckoned-with Dee Rees. Netflix sealed the biggest deal of this year’s Sundance Film Festival when it paid a whopping $12.5 million for “Mudbound,” setting a high bar for the drama. Balancing out the heavier fare are classic comedies like “Men In Black” and “Scary Movie,” as well as “Field of Dreams” and “42” for the baseball lovers.

The fresh crop also includes a bevy of critically acclaimed documentaries, such as “Eventual Salvation,” “Chasing Trane: The John Coltrane Documentary,” and “Cuba and the Cameraman.” Jim Carrey’s creative process gets a deep dive in “Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond,” which includes never-before-seen behind the scenes footage from Milos Forman

It’s that time of the month again—Netflix has unveiled its list of movies and TV shows that will be coming to the streaming service in November 2017. It’s something of a mixed bag when it comes to library titles, as films like Men in Black, Michael Clayton, and the underrated Western The Homesman are welcome additions but I’m not sure who’s itching to watch The Reader, Chappie, or The Pursuit of Happyness. But November is stacked with original Netflix content, and chief among the new releases is its major Oscar contender Mudbound. Netflix acquired the …

CBS Exec Scott Koondel Uses Personal Story to Help Lives of Foster Kids and Charity One Simple Wish

Many industry executives have hosted fundraising events for favorite charities at their homes. But few have packed the emotional punch that CBS Corp.’s Scott Koondel delivered in the backyard of his Brentwood home in May when he made the pitch for One Simple Wish, a Trenton, N.J.-based nonprofit organization that aids kids in foster care.

Koondel, 53, spoke publicly for the first time about the trials he faced as a youth shuttling through foster homes until he struck out on his own as a young teenager. Today, Koondel, who is CBS Corp. exec VP and chief licensing officer, is determined to use his eye-popping story of survival to help raise money and awareness about the needs of kids in foster care, particularly as they enter adulthood.

Yes No Maybe So: Jacob Tremblay is a "Wonder"

by Nathaniel R

From a distance the forthcoming film Wonder (2017) looks like Mask (1985) for the junior high set. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Rj Palacio about Auggie, a boy who enters school after years of home schooling due to his many surgeries and complications with a rare facial deformity. Jacob Tremblay, in demand post Room, plays the main character Auggie. The film is directed by Stephen Chbosky who already has some experience with transferring Ya novels to the screen since he transferred his own for his directorial debut The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012). Wonder is his sophomore effort though this time he left the screenwriting to another. Steven Conrad, who previously adapted The Pursuit of Happyness and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty to screen, adapts.

Let's compartmentalize the first trailer with our Yes No Maybe So™ system after the jump...
