So bad it's bad!

Paul Thomas is responsible for this horrendous Adult feature, reminding me of the worst of Troma product, that awful NYC label that has been reponsible for much of the intentionally poor movies since the '70s. End credits make fun of the feature "Sextet" we've just watched, rechristening it "The Porn Star and the Vampire" and mocking its shortcomings, seemingly to anticipate and defuse the expected critical reactions.

With the idiotic production manager (and producer) Shylar Cobi leading some cheerleading, the DVD plays like many an unfinished film: lots of botched scenes strung together as if David Stanley's screenplay made any sense. To not really cover his tracks, PT integrates the feature film with frequent interruptions of BTS footage (featuring the cast, himself and Cobi) that chronicles the shooting of the scenes we're watching, replete with "Day Two 2:30pm" titles detailing a 5-day schedule.

It's a hodge-podge of dreadful special effects, a lavish cemetery set built in the Budapest studio (with Cobi telling us how spectacular it is), extraneous sex scenes starring plenty of Euro talent rounded up by assistant director Anita Rinaldi, and the phoniest teeth money can buy to represent vampires ready to bite necks. Even Jerry Lewis at his racist best impersonating Japanese guys in '50s and '60s comedies had better prop teeth than these.

So with the relatively lavish budget offered by Vivid Entertainment for this shot on film disaster PT has only this to show for it? "Sextet" clearly should have been left unfinished in the vaults rather than proffered to loyal fans of PT or his label. It stars Tawny Roberts, perhaps the lousiest Contract Girl that Vivid ever signed before going quiescent (along with PT's career) four years ago, and she's terrible. I went through the torture of binge viewing four of her Vivid stinkers back to back, which I had on a special 2006 4-on-1 Vivid DVD in my collection (they did these for other stars like Lanny Barby and Chloe Jones) and I don't recommend that practice to anyone.
