(at around 53 mins) When Doug is angered about knowing the truth about what they were actually doing to view everywhere other than "satellites", he tries to make a point clear about something being present and past by taking a chair and breaking a computer monitor. Yet in later scenes the monitor seems to be working again, unless they replaced a monitor in a matter of minutes.
(at around 1h 10 mins) When Doug Carlin is walking into the compound holding the helmet in one hand and a gun in the other, there is a shot which is mirrored; the helmet and wristwatch are on the right and the gun appears to in his left hand.
(at around 1h 7 mins) When Doug Carlin's Hummer is driving up on the bridge after the truck crashes into him during the car chase, the camera shot from within Carlin's car shows him passing a VW Beetle. When the camera switches to an overhead one, we can see that Carlin's Hummer hasn't passed the Beetle yet.
The bomber arrived at the ferry dock at 0440 which means Carlin's chase could not have started before 1040. During Agent Carlin's pursuit of the bomber, we get a glimpse of Pryzwarra's watch when he is picking up the phone that shows 5:45 which could be 0545 (five hours too early) or 1745 (meaning Carlin took seven hours to get to the Crescent City Bridge). When Carlin starts to walk away from the Hummer in daylight, his watch shows 0950 (50 minutes too soon) but when he gets on the other side of the house, the time shows 1135 (more in sync with the timeline).
(at around 41 mins) When Claire starts writing in her diary after taking a shower, she writes immediately below the previous entry. The next shot, which gives us a close-up, shows there are two blank lines between the previous entry and the one she is making.
The ferry incident is Mardi Gras Day (a.k.a. Fat Tuesday). On Mardi Gras Day, the ferry service is pedestrian only for security reasons. And also, there was a school bus full of school children on it. All schools in the New Orleans area are closed for the holiday.
Claire swims by the ferry's propeller by a matter of inches. In reality, she would have been sucked into it.
Shortly after the bombing and after Agent Carlin arrives, a USCG Helicopter, Law Enforcement and USCG Boats are patrolling for bodies and evidence. A civilian news helicopter flies right past the USCG HH-65 Dauphin. FAA at the Request of the DoD would have restricted the airspace directly above the scene to above 1500-2000 Feet Above Ground to allow official aircraft unrestricted access to the area and to prevent contamination to the site.
It is not generally possible to travel through New Orleans by car, as shown in the film, on Fat Tuesday (aka Mardi Gras Day). Parades are held on most main routes and tourism increases the city's population by tens of thousands during the Mardi Gras season, culminating on Fat Tuesday, when most businesses close due to the many thousands of people in the streets all around the city.
At 1.39, when Doug unplugs the leads to the monitor, the whole screen turns off. It should actually have still been on, beeping and showing either a flat line or dots and question marks.
The Navy Uniforms may be correct for Fat Tuesday. The Officers and Sailors are wearing Summer Whites. Although most US Navy commands would specify either Service Dress Blue or Winter/Working Blue in February, it is up to the individual commands to make that determination based on their own climate. For example, when there was a Naval Base in Orlando, Florida (a training center which has subsequently closed) the uniform was whites year-round.
(at around 1h 13 mins) In the compound scene a St. Martin Parish Sheriff's car can be seen parked in the background. New Orleans is located in Orleans Parish, over 150 miles away from St. Martin Parish. A St. Martin Parish Sheriff's deputy would not have jurisdiction in Orleans Parish. While this would normally be correct in post Katrina New Orleans there were many officers from many different jurisdictions in state and out of state.
The bomber makes a big deal about needing Claire to look like a bomb victim and that a bullet would have ruined it, despite having already shot and disposed of Agent Carlin's partner in the very same location.
In the opening sequence you see sailors moving from the left of the screen to the right but all of the rating badges and service stripes are on the incorrect arm. These are suppose to be on the left arm but they appear on the right indicating that the film makers used a mirror image of the shot.
Doug had a clear shot at Oerstadt legs but never took the shot.
When Carlin calls into his office at the start of the film, his coworker pronounces New Orleans as "New Orleens". Any newcomer to the town would very quickly learn how to pronounce the name properly. Washington's pronunciation, "New Orlins" is correct.
During the car chase with Doug in the present and the bomber 4 days in the past, they both end up facing each other. Even though Doug's vehicle is in broad daylight and the amount of time he sits facing the bomber a truck hits him. Even at speed this truck would have seen him sitting there from a distance back and either stopped or turned ti avoid him.
At about 1:33 Doug crashes the ambulance into the shack.
This is a dumb move. He doesn't know where Claire is. He could have killed her.
After driving off the ferry, Doug begins to kick at the bullet-riddled windshield. The mounting plate for the rear view mirror is visible. As he continues to kick, the mirror and items hanging from it are now visible.
(at around 1h 3 mins) When Doug Carlin is driving the Hummer and about to put the goggles on, a camera man is reflected on the front window of the car.
(at around 5 mins) The Mississippi River is a muddy river. The camera views in the water after the explosion show very clear water, which is definitely NOT the Mississippi River.
(at around 1h 8 mins) The compound is located in Stephensville, LA (just North of Morgan City), about 90 miles away from New Orleans, not just an exit in New Orleans, as the movie suggests.
Agent Carlin discovers the evidence of blasting caps washed
ashore at 1245; he returns the call to the victim at 1318 (1:18pm). He seems to do quite a lot in those 33 minutes: investigates the surface and underside of the Crescent City Bridge, visits the police department to notify them that it is a crime scene, gets a cup of coffee there (by inquiring the location of the coffee pot), drives back to the ATF office, and attempts to reach his partner.
When Doug first visits Claires apartment, he finds blood covered bandages which turn out to be his. He then sees "U can save her" on the fridge door which he's left. He's also accused of contaminating the crime scene with his fingerprints.
However, at this point, Doug had not travelled back in time - if he had, then he wouldn't be investigating Claires murder as he would have saved her.
