Among Brothers is based on the actual events surrounding a cold case. Names are changed for protection. On November 9th, 1994, Jennifer Matthews, a senior at Bergan State University in South Carolina, was found dead in her burned down apartment. The police informed the Matthews family that it appeared to be an accident. Two days later, the autopsy revealed that her death was no accident. There was no presence of smoke in Jennifer's lungs, she died before the fire- someone had killed her and tried to cover it up. Written by Anonymous
This film is a must-see. Why? It's a true low-budget film, but doesn't look like low budget. The story line is compelling and based on a true story which will send chills up your spine. The dialog is well written and believable. The actors are undiscovered and talented and a few will no doubt be household names in the future. Unlike many films from first-time directors, the viewer is taken along on the roller coaster of emotions that the characters experience, and each scene makes sense as a part of the whole. This is a heavy film, and you'll feel exhausted after watching it. I definitely recommend you keep an eye on this film and see it if you have the chance.
