Kevin Costner was considered for the role of Heep. However, Paul Giamatti accepted the part before they contacted Costner (Giamatti was really the first option).

Goofs:

Continuity: In the apartment just after Cleveland rescues Story, we see Story talking to Cleveland. From Story's perspective she is looking directly over her knees which are closed towards Cleveland. It would appear she is sitting normally on the sofa. From Clevelands perspective, she is looking to the right of her slightly apart knees, and sitting length-ways on the sofa.

Great Novel Storyline

I highly enjoyed this movie. It fits nicely with M. Night's body of work while carving out a more unique niche in his genre. It has good tempo with consistent theming that are punctuated with some comedic relief absent in his previous endeavors. The characters are nicely developed, and keep you guessing for a bit of the movie as it is not as predictable as you may think. All in all it was one of the more refreshing and original movie going experiences I have had in awhile. I would recommend this film whole heartedly, but some thematic elements and sequences may be a bit too frightening for younger children. As with original fables and fairy tales, it has scary elements imbued in it that are effective in their points. Enjoy.
