Tom Welling Joins Draft Day

Smallville star Tom Welling has joined the cast of Summit Entertainment's Draft Day, which is currently in production.

Kevin Costner stars as the general manager of the Cleveland Browns, who tries to trade up to get the top pick in the NFL Draft. Tom Welling will play veteran NFL quarterback Brian Drew, who is at a crossroads in his playing career. Jennifer Garner, Ellen Burstyn, Denis Leary, Frank Langella, and Chadwick Boseman also star.

Ivan Reitman is directing from a screenplay by Rajiv Joseph, which landed the top spot on the Black List last year. Ali Bell and Tom Pollock are producing for Montecito Pictures, along with Ivan Reitman.

Tom Welling recently shot a supporting turn in the upcoming drama Parkland. His other feature film credits include The Fog and Cheaper by the Dozen 2.

Taylor Lautner's 5 funniest screen moments

Yesterday, the first trailer for Adam Sandler's "Grown Ups 2" came along, and it reminded many of us that Taylor Lautner - who has a cameo in the film as an uber-macho frat boy - is a pretty funny dude ... a whole lot funnier than his "Twilight Saga" counterpart Jacob Black at least. He's only done a handful of comedic films so far ("Cheaper By The Dozen 2" and "Valentine's Day" among them), but even so Taylor Lautner's still got a pretty nice little funny bone on display in his resume.
