I watched the 1970's review on BBC4 and expected to see a taste of 70's TV, a few reminders of forgotten progs etc. Instead I got 2 reviewers one with a balanced view only because he has a chip on BOTH shoulders and another who seemed to me unable to disagree with his colleague. Whilst review The Sweeney, a perfect example of 70's POPULAR TV, Mr Coren actually said I used to watch this and enjoy it now I agree with you it really isn't very good etc etc Well thank goodness your friend was around or you'd have no opinion at all. Talk of it being dialogue heavy and lacking action. It was The Sweeney not The Wild Bunch or Jackass the movie it had a story, set in London where there are still very few shootings and it seemed he wanted something like Miami Vice. Good idea but pointless analysis by a pair of "experts" who assumed they knew best.
