Ever been dumped? In front of 20,000 people at a stadium, on live television!? LEWIS BOND, a dashing young executive, decides to get serious after this experience and creates a list (litmus test) that the right woman should match, to avoid another humiliation. However, when he thinks he has found her, she turns out to be not as perfect as he thought, leaving the risk averse Lewis to choose between what his head or heart tells him. Written by Anonymous
Lewis (Wayne Brady) is a very successful advertising executive. Since he comes from a humble background, this is commendable. But, truly, Lewis works very hard, constantly makes "lists" of goals and bringing them to fruition. Unfortunately, he thinks this will also work in the romance department, for he has written down the criteria for his ideal woman. One day, believing he has found this particular lady, Lew proposes on a local television show. The scheme backfires! The female in question proceeds to tick off why Lewis is not HER ideal man, much to his sorrow. Nevertheless, he doesn't grieve long, for into his world comes a mysterious, lovely lass, Cecile (Sydney Tamiia Portier). On their first date, he astonished to find himself singing a duet with her, at a karaoke bar. Not only that, its a song from his favorite singer, Marvin Gaye. Cecile also likes hockey, video games and other stuff he is partial to as well. But, could it be that someone has set Lewis up, that is, coached a woman on winning his heart, without sincerity? Say it ain't so! This was a nice romcom for the genre's many fans. The two stars, Brady and Portier, do a fine job and the rest of the cast, which includes Ileana Douglas, supports them well. Be aware, though, that the script, which has many touching moments, also sports a few explicitly sexual scenes and references. If this matters to you, look for something else. On the other hand, the costumes, sets, and amenities are very worthy, with Portier looking gorgeous at every turn. So, if you love your romcoms, add this one to your list. Like it you almost certainly will.
