Eli Roth shot onto the horror scene in 2002 with Cabin Fever and quickly became a sort of new authority in the horror world. A lot of that probably has to do with him being one of the most enthusiastic and knowledgable talking heads on the great Bravo mini-series The 100 Scariest Movie Moments. That combined with the release of Hostel turned him into a household name faster than any horror director in recent memory. That said, in the last few year's Roth's career has been a bit uneven. He's been involved with a few worthwhile projects as a producer, like The Sacrament and The Last Exorcism, but it's hard to imagine that his career would have blasted off if The Green Inferno and Knock Knock were his first two movies.
