I saw this at the Tribeca Film Festival, and I have to say that it was my favorite short film at the festival.
I don't want to give too much of the plot away but it involves hair-metal, geeky teenagers and a lot of make-up. I don't think I've laughed this hard at a film in years.
I grew up in the 1980's with bands like Twisted Sister, and the film brought me right back there. My kids, who didn't really have a point of reference for all the rock stuff, laughed a lot at the glib, semi-surrealist wit of the film.
The acting was excellent, especially from the man who played the teacher. He was very natural and extremely funny.
Later, during the question and answer session, it was revealed that this film won an award for best family film, and I'm not surprised. It's refreshing to see a film that both kids and parents can laugh at and enjoy.
