Fox Studios has a pile of X-Men film projects in development to expand and extend their financially successful franchise but there’s one we didn’t know about until now. In addition to Wolverine 2, Deadpool and X-Men: First Class, the most anticipated (and the most seasonal) superhero epic coming out is X-Mas Origins: Santa.
Unfortunately, this is only a fan-made mash-up trailer for what could be a hilarious movie. Featuring footage and sound from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Batman Begins, Max Payne, Blade, Punisher: War Zone, The Incredible Hulk and several Tim Allen movies among others, here’s a very creative and funny video for an alternate take on Santa Claus.
Watch and enjoy:
Marky Mark killed Santa’s family?
He tried to end Christmas… But on December 24th… Christmas ended… Him.

Brittany Murphy Tweets From Peter Facinelli, Paris Hilton And Others In Another Twitter-Wood Early Edition

Earlier today, we brought you an early edition of Twitter-Wood packed chock-full of celebrity praise for James Cameron's sci-fi epic, "Avatar." It's a much more tragic set of circumstances that brings me back to you with another Twitter-Wood early edition.
"Clueless" star Brittany Murphy left us suddenly over the weekend, the victim of a heart attack at the too-young age of 32. The breaking news resulted in an outpouring of grief and sympathy for Murphy's family from around the celebrity Twittersphere. I'll let the people who knew her take it from here...
@ParisHilton So sad to hear about Brittany Murphy, such a tragedy. She was such a beautiful, funny and sweet girl. My heart goes out to her family.

Ray Stevenson Talks Volstagg in ‘Thor’

When I first saw The Punisher: War Zone I pretty much hated it. Yet another Punisher reboot that simply didn’t work. However, upon further reflection over subsequent months I realized War Zone wasn’t bad. Actually, it was Ray Stevenson’s performance as Frank Castle that single-handedly saved the film.
Stevenson continued to flesh out his bad ass resume as Titus Pullo in the mini-series Rome. While Titus was a more benign individual at times it didn’t take much to bring out the Punisher-esque tendencies when he reverted to his soldier role. In fact, Rome had some of the best action sequences ever and Stevenson again was brilliant in this capacity.
So, what happens when you combine The Punisher and Titus Pullo? How about one of Thor’s Warriors Three: Volstagg? Of course, the most obvious question was how Stevenson would fill out Volstagg’s large, um…physique:
“…a solution is at hand,

Ray Stevenson Talks Fat Volstagg in Thor

Ray Stevenson made his mark playing Titus Pullo in the incredible Rome series, but he also made a splash earlier this year playing the title character of Frank Castle in Punisher: War Zone. Unfortunately the film was a bit of a disaster critically and at the box office but he was perfectly cast and did his job right.
Stevenson has also played some cool characters in King Arthur and Outpost among many others, but the best is yet to come as we’ll be seeing a lot more of the growing star in the next few years with him being cast and working on a few big films including a role in the Denzel Washington starrer, The Book of Eli. For the Rome fans out there, a feature film based after the series is also in development so we can expect to see Titus Pullo back in action yet again.

'Thor' Actor Ray Stevenson Will Wear A Fat Suit To Play Volstagg

Ray Stevenson is packing on the pounds for the boisterous Asgardian warrior Volstagg, the actor's upcoming role in director Kenneth Branagh's "Thor" for Marvel Studios.
While the "Punisher: War Zone" star isn't readying himself for a fat-filled diet to play the rotund Volstagg, Stevenson did reveal that he'll nonetheless have plenty of gut to show off in "Thor" thanks to the aid of a bodysuit.
"It's fantastic," Stevenson told Empire Online of the suit. "I've tried the suit on, and what they've done is kind of sex him up: he's sort of slimmer but rounder."
It's hard to imagine the physically fit Stevenson as the flabby Volstagg, but at least it sounds like he'll be a closer match to the Asgardian's weight class thanks to the film's costume department. But even more important than Stevenson's physical likeness, it's essential that he understands the character. Luckily, it sounds like Stevenson has that covered,

Ray Stevenson Talks About His Thor Costume

When Punisher: War Zone's Ray Stevenson was cast as portly Asgardian warrior Volstagg in Thor, the question was how Kenneth Branagh and company were going to handle the weight discrepancy. Stevenson told Empire that a solution has been discovered: a fat suit.
It's fantastic. I've tried the suit on, and what they've done is kind of sex him up: he's sort of slimmer but rounder. He's got every bit of that Falstaffian verve and vigour, and a bit of a beer gut to suggest that enormous appetite, but he's not the sort of Weeble-shaped figure he is in the comics. He's Falstaff with muscles. I've got this amazing foam-injected undersuit that flexes with me. I can't wait!
Thor is currently in rehearsals and starts production in mid-January.

Hate and ye shall have a voice. Exercise shocking taste and ye shall have a voice!
I guess it was inevitable. News programs have slowly become overrun with sensationalism, voices comfortably spewing out the most shocking commentaries they can, annoying those who disagree and rile up those who love a little inappropriate sass with their politics. And it's only natural that this would slowly leak into the movie reviewing world. Guardian has thrown up a love/hate piece for film critic Fiore Mastracci, who they call "a critic so dreadful he's bordering on genius." A once under-the-radar critic, his review of The Road has been making the rounds.
Where many critics love flicks like The Road or Fantastic Mr. Fox, Fiore is a lover of Punisher: War Zone, The Pink Panther (2006), Hitman, Transporter 2... In other words, he's that Regular Joe type moviegoer who equates good cinema with those brainless adventures on the big screen.

With a calling card of 'celluloid excrement' – which he's applied to films from The Road to Fantastic Mr Fox and Watchmen – Fiore Mastracci is a critic so dreadful he's bordering on genius
A confession: I'm obsessed with a film critic. His name is Fiore Mastracci, and he's the worst film critic in the world. You know how some people are so bad they're good? Not Fiore. He's so bad, he's flipped all the way around, bypassed good, gone into bad again, come out the other end and dipped into genius.
He used to be my little secret. But no longer. His latest brilliant (ie awful) review – about Cormac McCarthy adaptation The Road – has hit the Twitterverse. He calls it "excrement on celluloid". He lambasts child actor Kodi Smit-McPhee for having a double-barrelled surname ("Why? Because we were going to be confused by all the other Kodi McPhees in Tinsel Town?

Rob Zombie Still Wants To Make Tyrannosaurus Rex

Rob Zombie wants to make a mark for himself outside of the horror genre. Here's more: Zombie, whose real name is Robert Cummings, was attached to 2008's "Punisher: War Zone" until he realized he wasn't interested in directing the action film. He hopes his next film will be another action flick, "Tyrannosaurus Rex," which is about a washed-up boxer who gets into the world of underground fighting after he's released from prison. There has also been talk of Zombie remaking "The Blob." Although it probably won't happen since everyone hated his "Halloween" remake, I think revisiting the "Blob" would be awesome. Here's to inserting white trash characters yelling at each other, and giving the Blob a demystifying, text book serial killer background wherein you see the mound of Jello torturing little animals. The good news is that Zombie says he won't be back for any more "Halloween" movies. [For the record, I think his "Halloween 2" is

Blu-Ray Review: HBO’s Epic ‘Rome’ Released in HD Series Set

Chicago – Just in time for holiday shopping, HBO has released both seasons of the epic “Rome” in one gorgeously-packaged Blu-Ray set with all 22 episodes and bonus material including audio commentaries and behind-the-scenes featurettes. Whatever you may think of the show, “Rome” was one of the most beautifully designed programs of the decade and a perfect fit for 1080p.
Blu-Ray Rating: 4.0/5.0
The winner of seven Emmy Awards takes place four hundred years after the founding of the Republic. Rome is brought vividly to life as an allegory for power struggles in any era. In the show, the days of shared power has come to an end and everyone is fighting for their part of the new structure - it’s the perfect backdrop for betrayal, excess, and corruption.
Blending historical figures like Julius Caesar, Marc Antony, and Cleopatra with their own narratives, “Rome” was a gorgeous blend of style and substance.

Original 'Punisher' Actor Dolph Lundgren Says He Hasn't Seen Recent Films

No matter how many times Marvel's Punisher films start over from scratch, Dolph Lundgren will always be the first-live action Frank Castle.
The iconic action star wrote, directed and headlined in his latest direct-to-dvd film "Command Performance" and returns to the big screen in 2010 for Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables." As far as upcoming comic book films go, however, "Conan" is the only one that has his attention right now, and he said he hasn't been keeping up with the skull-shirted vigilante he first portrayed in 1989.
"No, I haven't seen any of [the new 'Punisher' movies]," Lundgren told MTV News. The Swedish-born actor has kept a tight schedule since he began directing his own movies like "The Mechanik" and "Diamond Dogs," so it's understandable that he might not be able to find the time.
While he's glad that he made his "Punisher" before the current comics trend hit Hollywood, he does believe it would

Thor will be the next Marvel comic book movie to head into production, with shooting expected to commence sometime in mid-January. The Kenneth Branagh-directed action fantasy flick is shaping up to be a little different from your average superhero adaptation, and already boasts an impressive cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgard, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, and of course, Samuel L. Jackson briefly reprising his role as Nick Fury. Now this week three more actors have been added to the roster.
According to Variety [1], Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Queen of the Damned), Ray Stevenson (Rome, Punisher: War Zone) and Tadanobu Asano (Mongol) have signed on to play Thor's Warriors Three, a group of "Asgardian adventurers who fight alongside the Norse god". Their names: Fandral, Volstagg the Valiant, and Hogun the Grim, respectively. Just based on the names alone I'm excited!

Kenneth Branagh is bringing in some gods of Asgard to fight along side Thor. According to Variety, Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson, and Tadanobu Asano has signed on to co-star in Thor as the Warriors Three, Fandral, Volstagg, and Hogun. Though it was pretty much at an end, anyway, this ties the rumors off from a month or so back when Jude Law and Robert De Niro’s names were orbiting the film.
In the original comics, the three were travelling companions to Thor who often fought alongside him. Townsend, Stevenson, and Asano join a cast that already includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston as the film’s villain, Loki, Anthony Hopkins, and Stellan Skarsgard.

Ray Stevenson (Punisher: War Zone), Stuart Townsend (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), and Tadanobu Asano (Mongol) are set to play the Warriors Three in Marvel’s Thor, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
The Warriors Three are a team of Asgardian gods that play a supporting role to Thor, the God of Thunder. According to Variety, Townsend will play Fandral the Dashing, a dashing swordsman Stan Lee based on Errol Flynn. Stevenson is set as Volstagg the Valiant, an obese warrior with superhuman strength based on the William Shakespeare character Falstaff. Asano is Hogun the Grim, a maceman with a resistance to physical injury based on the characters of actor Charles Bronson.
I’m not particularly familiar with Townsend, but Stevenson was excellent in “Rome” before he tried to make it with another awful Punisher pic and Asano was brilliant in the epic Mongol, something you should check out if you enjoyed Braveheart.
