Storyline

4 interlocking stories connected by a single gun converge at the end to reveal a complex and tragic story of the lives of humanity around the world and how we truly aren't all that different. In Morocco, a troubled married couple are on vacation trying to work out their differences. Meanwhile, a Moroccan herder buys a rifle for his sons so they can keep the jackals away from his herd. A girl in Japan dealing with rejection, the death of her mother, the emotional distance of her father, her own self-consciousness, and a disability among many other issues, deals with modern life in the enormous metropolis of Tokyo, Japan. Then, on the opposite side of the world the married couple's Mexican nanny takes the couple's 2 children with her to her son's wedding in Mexico, only to come into trouble on the return trip. Combined, it provides a powerful story and an equally powerful looking glass into the lives of seemingly random people around the world and it shows just how connected we really ... Written by Mac

Goofs

After the wedding, Amelia, her nephew and the Jones children use the Tecate border crossing to reenter the USA. After fleeing, we are shown a sandy, wide desert where they wander. Actually, the Tecate border crossing is in the mountains, there is no such desert within a reasonable distance on the USA side. What is shown looks like an Arizona border crossing. See more »

One of Inarritu's Best Movies Till Date.
13 February 2017 | by See all my reviews

I remember seeing Birdman about two years ago and ever since I just loved Inarritu's movies. This man has not made a bad movie yet, and i don't think he ever will. This movie deals with so many subjects and it does it perfectly.

Inarritu gives a whole new way of looking at life with one of the best movies I have ever seen. As you may know this is a kind of follow up on his previous movies, Amorres Perros and 21 Grams, and if you haven't seen them, I urge you to watch them right now, it is without a doubt some of the best movies you will ever watch. Even though I will say Amorres Perros is the best one of them, that doesn't make 21 grams or Babel any worse.

I cannot understand people that say that the 3 movies are basically the same, NO they each got their own beauty about them. Now about Babel, I really think it is a masterpiece, exploring 3 very different lives in very different places, and they are still all connected. And like the other movies it will take some time to see why they are all connected, and I also think that they are more connected than you might just go ahead and think.

The stories are just amazing, they are all equally exciting and I didn't find one thing about the movie I did not like. There are some amazing performances by Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett but also by a lot of unknown actors.

I wanna finish by saying WATCH THIS MOVIE, and I promise you will not regret it. I hope you found this review helpful and I hope you will love the movie as I do. 10/10
