You better watch out You better not cry You better have clout I'm telling you why Two Thumbs Down are comin' to town He's making a list,

Checking it twice;

Gonna find out whose

movie was scheiss.

Sandy Claws is comin' to town.

He sees you when you're (bleeping),

He knows when you're a fake

He knows if you've been bad or good

So be good for cinema's sake!

With little but scorn

and pounding of drums,

Rooty toot hoots

and rummy tum thumbs

Sandy Jaws is comin' to town

As I dream back over many happy years of movie going, some of my favorite lines from old reviews dance in my head like visions of sugarplums. Good movies, bad movies, doesn't matter, just so the line dances. I thought I'd share them in the holiday spirit. Curiously, most of the lines come from movies so bad I didn't want a refund, »

Barry Sonnenfeld Helming The How-To Guide for Saving the World

18 December 2008 1:41 AM, PST | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

Barry Sonnenfeld hasn't directed much in the last few years. He started out in 1991 with The Addams Family and went on to make Men in Black, Wild Wild West, Men in Black II, and Rv most recently. MGM and United Artist have hired Sonnenfeld to direct The How-To Guide for Saving the World, an alien action comedy from newcomer BenDavid Grabinski. The script showed up on this year's Black List, which means it might not be that bad. "A non-action-hero guy not unlike me, in terms of manliness, and a woman who hates him find the book and have to save the planet from an impending attack," Sonnenfeld said. Not only has Hollywood become increasingly obsessed with alien scripts (like Battle: Los Angeles), but this sounds a lot like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. That's not really a bad thing, since I actually enjoyed that movie and wouldn't mind »

Barry Sonnenfeld Saves The World

18 December 2008 12:50 AM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

Barry Sonnenfeld is no stranger to saving the world, after two Men in Black films and, er, Wild Wild West. But now he's being called upon to save us all again, with the news that he's set to return to the big screen with The How-To Guide For Saving The World. The story centres on - as you'd expect from the title - an instruction manual for protecting the world from alien invasion left behind by a now-defunct secret group. It is discovered by what Sonnenfeld describes as "a non-action-hero guy, not unlike me in terms of manliness" and a woman who hates him, who have to work together to save the planet. The script's by newcomer BenDavid Grabinski, and it'll be Sonnenfeld's first feature directing gig since 2006's Rv, but let's draw a veil over that and focus on the fact that he used to make films like The Addams Family and Get Shorty, »

Auto Focus: Cheryl Hines Not Only Loves Psycho, She Re-enacts It

12 March 2008 10:28 AM, PDT | AMC News Interviews | See recent AMC News Interviews news »

She may play the ever-dutiful wife of to the most socially inept human being on HBO, but Cheryl Hines' enthusiasm these days is anything but curbed. Perhaps that's because in recent years the actress has broken out as one of Hollywood's newest leading ladies. Aside from her work with Seinfeld genius Larry David, Hines has paired with Robin Williams in Rv and Keri Russell in the wonderfully sassy Waitress. From »
