Two guys are shown in fist-fights/wrestling a couple of times.

A man is found dead (committed suicide). We see his wrists slit and a lot of blood on the floor.

A woman is stabbed in the back by a buzzing scalpel (unseen, camera was on her face). The wound is not shown, just some blood on her clothing and hands.

A man is slashed across the stomach with a buzzing scalpel and it bleeds, the wound is not shown clearly, but his clothing and hands show blood.

A man has his legs crushed and it bleeds under water/liquid. This scene is fairly painful to watch.

A man with heavy burns has the skin torn off his arm, exposing muscles and tendons.

A man with severe burns on his body is the main villain

There are a few gory kills, but the violence is not very often and is almost solely in the third act.

11 F-words. A few Hells and Damns, pretty standard if not relatively light language for an R-Rated horror movie

Several people are shown dying by being burnt by the sun, one freezes and one suffocates/freezes in space. Another is murdered and there is a suicide. There are also fires and explosions, and a scary mad man. All scenes showing the mad man are blurry/disorienting and fairly disturbing.

The various deaths are pretty intense and some are frightening

Note: In Australia the MA rating is due to the short video in the special features called Dad's Dead. Sunshine (the main feature) is actually rated M.

BBFC - (15): strong violence, horror, language.

Rated R for violent content and language
