An absolute dog's breakfast of a film. Woeful.
22 January 2007 | by (Australia) – See all my reviews

People in Australia wonder why the Australian film industry is going down the toilet and all our major talents are moving overseas. (A classic example is Sam WORTHINGTON getting picked up for Jame's Cameron's new 250 million dollar film 'Avatar'). Here's just one quick tale. A few years ago a guy I know was having trouble trying to get his film idea of the ground. His name was Leigh WHANNELL and he was told that there wasn't an audience for his idea. He couldn't get any Australian film maker's interested in his project so he packed up his bag's and moved to the US, where he was given a million dollars to film his vision. He and another Aussie local then made SAW; a franchise that has gone on to rake in approximately 900 million dollars US and helped kick off the horror resurgence that has taken over modern cinema for the time being. Why is it then that we have movies like 'FINK' sullying our international reputation and taking places on DVD shelves that should be replaced by decent film makers. This movie is Terrible in every sense of the word. The script is laughable in all the wrong ways. The acting is appalling and the story is a cut-paste of the worst parts of every brit-gangster and Kevin Smith movie. I'm surprised that some notable Australians lent their names to this, and those that do look physically pained and embarrassed to be a part of it. This movie is one of the worst things I've ever seen. I actually text-ed all my friends to turn on the TV to experience just how bad it was. Any more questions as to why the Australian film industry is suffering? Ask Leigh Whannell in his mansion in America, or watch this pitiful excuse for an Aussie flick. Otherwise, avoid at all costs. You've been warned.
