Storyline

Tom Winger is head over heels in love. The girl of his dreams has finally acknoledged his existence after months of friendly ignorance and exchanged a few words with him. What Tom accepts as a clear sign of eternal love and romantic happiness is quite a different thing for his two roommates. Sexual intercourse is on the way - that's a sure thing for professional cynics Markus and Arne. Tom is shocked and refuses to believe that romance is really just a cosequence of his sex drive. A turbulent night commences, confronting him with many obstacles and strangers. Written by Jan Braband

Rather philosophical than funny...
2 March 2005 | by See all my reviews

Okay, I noticed most of the crowd laughing hard while watching this movie while I always asked myself: What is sooo funny about a guy writing love letters on the backside of a speeding ticket? I'm not saying it is NOT funny, but I think the quality of this film lies clearly in its subtle humor. The philosophical debate about life and everything (which reminded me a little of the late great Douglas Adams) with the somehow deranged transsexual was REALLY one of the highlights, incredibly funny and to some degree very true. But no one was laughing here... Uhm... I have the notion that Hormoon is more a movie for guys - clearly there are way more guys in it and we learn by far more about what guys think than what women have to say about love and romance. So I'd give Hormoon a 0 from a woman's perspective and a 10 from what I assume guys consider entertainment. Watch it with your boyfriends, girls!
