WWE Judgment Day 2005, 3 September 2005
8/10

Wasn't Judgment Day a pleasant surprise? This boasted three excellent matches and the others with the exception of Heidenreich vs Orlando Jordan were acceptable. This was the hottest Smackdown! PPV since No Way Out 2004, and doesn't that seem like ages ago? Results from Judgment Day which was seen by 8000 fans in the arena were as follows:

- MNM (Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro managed by Melina) defeated Hardcore Holly and Charlie Haas to retain the WWE tag team titles in a fair match.

- Orlando Jordan retained the US title against Heidenreich in a poor match.

- Paul London retained the Cruiserweight title against Chavo Guerrero in a grand match.

- Carlito downed The Big Show with assistance from Matt Morgan in a comedy match.

- Rey Mysterio defeated Eddy Guerrero in a fine match.

- John Cena retained the WWE title from JBL in a blood stunt I quit match. Considering their p*ss poor match from Wrestlemania XXI, this was a very good improvement.

Keep it up WWE! Overall Grade - A-
