In order to enter Erasmus' house, the hero must answer three questions the gargoyle asks. The alternative answers mostly refer to other Sierra games, famous people, books and movies. For instance, the alternative answers to the question "What is your name?" are: "Elvis' ghost" - referring to Elvis Presley; "I am Inigo Montalban" - referring to the character Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride (1987); "I am Oz, the great and terrible" - referring to The Wizard of Oz (1939); "Call me Ismael" - referring to the novel 'Moby Dick'; "Gunga Din" - referring to the poem by that name of Rudyard Kipling; "I am King Graham Cracker" - referring to 'King's Quest' series.

In the end, a celebration party is held for the Hero. The town of Spielburg is named after Steven Spielberg. If the hero asks Sam the beggar about traders, he mentions a guy named Amblin - Steven Spielberg's production company.
