My name is Reina Victoria and I was one of the contestants on StarDance. I have been dancing since the age of three. My experiences include: ballet, pointe, modern, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, hula, tahitian, tap, gymnastics, and musical theatre. StarDance was a dance/reality show that took place in the Philippines. I live in the USA. I was on vacation in the Philippines w/ my family. I was watching ABS and an advertisement for StarDance auditions was shown. I love to dance!! I was bored and wanted to see if I could pass the auditions. It was a 3 hour drive from where I was staying, but in the end it was all worth it because I made it onto the show as a contestant.

Among the 10,000 that auditioned, I was one of the 12 that made it into the show. The show was a very good experience. Making it so far into the show, I had to extend my stay from three weeks to six months. I put a semester of school aside, and also had to hand over my dance teaching job to another dance teacher. Episode after episode, I was given challenges to accomplish. I made it to the top six, then three WildCards were added in, then I was eliminated when I was in the top eight.

After I was eliminated, I did have my regrets. I felt like I missed out on my sister's life (I'm 14 yrs older than her so she's basically my baby). I'm currently behind in school. I was in really good shape when I arrived in the Philippines, but I gained a lot of weight during my stay there. I lost most of the weight I gained, and I'm almost back to my best shape and technique for dance. I also put a special guy aside for StarDance. I didn't keep in touch, I came back to the US and things were awkward. We're not as close, but we are still friends (I guess). Honestly, my current relationship with this special guy is the only reason that makes me truly regret ever signing the contract for StarDance.

All in all, it was a good experience. I learned many things about dance and myself. I met new people, dancers, and made new friends. I got to meet celebrities I knew and didn't know before the whole StarDance thing. I also got to live in the Philippines for half a year - I got to absorb the culture more. I learned things about my culture that I didn't know before. I also got to live the life as a celebrity. I got a taste of the star treatment (don't worry, I never got big headed...I'm very respectful and humble). I loved dancing/performing for the fans - taking pictures and signing autographs was fun too. I got to see how a TV show is produced - I got to see it behind the scenes, on set, on stage, etc.

Even with my thoughts of regrets, I would love to be on TV again. I would like to try acting - playing a character - some day.
