Fearless to the Rescue!
boblipton31 May 2015
When a couple of swindlers blackmail Billie Barnes into helping them to swindle an old lady out of her fortune, it's up the Famous Police Dog to set things aright.

Director and screenwriter Francis Ford had gotten his start in the movies acting in westerns produced by George Melies' brother. By the middle of the 1910s he was a leading star and director of thrillers for Universal -- it was there that he got his brother John Ford a job. By the time he directed this picture, his career was on the downslide, although he continued to work through his death; his best remembered role is as the old man who rises from his deathbed to watch the fight between John Wayne and Victor MacLaglen in THE QUIET MAN.

This movie lacks the tongue-in-cheek handling of Fearless' earlier short subjects. It also contains several subplots and scenes that seem added in as a lazy way to advance the main story. However, if you have a taste for the sentimental melodrama or Fearless, you may enjoy it.
