Amanda Peet Pregnant With Second Baby

10 December 2009 7:24 PM, PST | Celebrity Mania | See recent Celebrity Mania news »

Amanda Peet, the co-star of John Cusack in "2012 (2009)", is pregnant again. Peet's representative confirmed to People that she is expecting her second child with screen-writer husband, David Benioff.

On Peet's pregnancy, her representative didn't give any further information, including her due date. The upcoming baby will join Peet's first daughter Frances Pen, who was born in February 2007.

Back in April in the same year Peet gave birth to Pen, the FBI Agent Dakota Whitney of "The X-Files: I Want to Believe" said, "I think we want more [kids]." She then added, "He [Benioff] wants three, but I'm old, I'm an old lady. Two is enough."

Amanda Peet has starred in several movies, including "Something's Gotta Give", "The Whole Ten Yards" and "Five Dollars a Day". Meanwhile, her husband David Benioff has written some movie screenplays, such as "Troy", "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and "Brothers".

Peet and Benioff had dated for four years before deciding to tie the knot. »

In Defense Of: 'The X-Files: I Want to Believe'

23 November 2009 2:15 PM, PST | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

*There are spoilers here.*

I've been meaning to write this for a while, but wanted to wait until I could give The X-Files: I Want to Believe a second viewing, which I finally did yesterday, on beautiful Blu-Ray. I am a long-time X-Phile; the show, which I started watching around age 13, is one of my formative viewing experiences; I trace my current love for things ambiguous, fantastic and otherworldly squarely back to Chris Carter's brilliant creation. And I dissent in a big way from both the layman and fan consensus on I Want to Believe. I still think, as I did in the summer of 2008, that the movie is a fantastic X-Files episode. But more importantly, I still think it is a genuinely moving farewell to two beloved characters, and one of the most satisfying pieces of closure that any long-running series or franchise has ever given us.

David Duchovny wants more “alien-oriented conspiracy”

22 October 2009 11:09 AM, PDT | ReelLoop.com | See recent Reel Loop news »

Californication star David Duchovny has had a lukewarm relationship with the box office. His last feature, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, made a lackluster $10 million on its opening weekend and went on to make a mesely $68.1 million worldwide. If you ask Duchovny, who played the alien-loving Agent Mulder, what went wrong, he might tell you it was because the story was away from the heart of the popular Fox show. You know, cigerett smoking man and stuff?

“As far as the X-Files movie I’d like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy,” Duchovny said. ” I think it’s natural for The X-Files to have another movie in 2012, so we’ll see if we get to do it.”

David Duchovny Speaks Out About a Third X-Files Film

21 October 2009 8:52 AM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Although the second film didn't exactly set fire to the box office, the star of a popular sci-fi film and TV series is ready for more. The Daily Beast recently chatted with The X-Files star David Duchovny, who revealed he would still be in for a third film that would follow last year's The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Here's a section of the site's article.

However, Duchovny looks forward to filming a third X-Files film in the near future. "As far as the X-Files movie I'd like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy. I think it's natural for The X-Files to have another movie in 2012, so we'll see if we get to do it." He defends last year's widely panned The X-Files: I Want to Believe, as »

David Duchovny Still Wants to Believe in a 3rd X-Files Movie

20 October 2009 8:08 PM, PDT | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

I think it’s terrific that David Duchovny is so excited to do another “X-Files” movie despite the quality and non-existent box office of 2008’s “The X-Files: I Want to Believe”.  I think it’s hilarious that when the show was still on the air, Duchovny couldn’t get away fast enough and had his ass abducted off the show.  But now, as he’s done before, Duchovny is cheerleading another “X-Files” movie.  Hit the jump to have the conspiracy go eat itself.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, Duchovny had this to say in regards to another “X-Files” movie:

However, Duchovny looks forward to filming a third X-Files film in the near future. “As far as the X-Files movie I’d like to do next, if we get a chance to do it, would be a return to the heart and soul of the mythology, which is the alien-oriented conspiracy. »

David Duchovny talks ‘X-Files 3′

20 October 2009 7:00 AM, PDT | The Flickcast | See recent The Flickcast news »

Let me start by saying I never saw The X-Files: I Want to Believe. Simply put, I just didn’t believe it could be good. Based on the reviews and what friends have told me, I was right.

Since news started to come out about the premise of the last X-Files film I knew they were taking the characters down the wrong path. The pseudo monster-of-the-week episodes the series was known for worked well enough on TV, but you want something pretty big for a feature film. Really big.

The first movie got it right in my opinion. Conspiracy. Aliens. Giant UFOs. That’s movie caliber material. Mulder and Scully waxing poetic about a psychic priest in the sequel? Not so much.

It pains me a little to call out the second film like that because I’m a huge X-Files fan. That comes with sincerity as I have Mulder »

Film review: Whiteout (Rating 15, 1hr 46mins)

17 September 2009 2:33 PM, PDT | The Geek Files | See recent The Geek Files news »

Countless comic books and graphic novels are now being adapted into the medium of film, many of them not in the classic costumed superhero genre.

Whiteout is the latest example. The award-winning Oni Press comic book series centres on a Us Marshal called Carrie Stetko who investigates the first-ever murder in Antarctica just as a blizzard-battered winter is about to close in and leave her stranded there for six months.

A Warner Bros big-screen adaptation starring Kate Beckinsale as Stetko is now on release and, in the absence of a press screening invitation, I went to see it tonight.

The original comic has a second female character, with whom Stetko forms an intimate friendship, but for the film this was changed into a male Un operative played by Gabriel Macht, an actor familiar to genre fans for his recent starring role in The Spirit.

So does Whiteout work on the screen? »

Prepare For The Return Of… MacGyver?

16 March 2009 11:49 AM, PDT | ScreenRant.com | See recent Screen Rant news »

Hollywood is currently going through a remake frenzy of old films and television shows like we’ve never seen before. And the latest show from a bygone era to be given a cinematic make-over is MacGyver.

MacGyver starred Stargate’s Richard Dean Anderson as an agent for the Phoenix Foundation who was able to get out of any scrape by using everyday objects as weapons.

The new feature is set up at Newline Cinema and it will be produced by Raffaella De Laurentiis, Martha De Laurentis and Lee Zlotoff who created the original series.

The show ran from 1985 to 1992 on ABC and it was sort of like Indiana Jones meets James Bond meets The A-Team. It was fun for its day but it will be difficult to balance the shows easy going charm and farfetched gadgetry with today’s Bourne style ferocity.

Updated: Worst Excuse for an Award Show Announces Their Nominees

7 January 2009 12:24 PM, PST | Rope of Silicon | See recent Rope Of Silicon news »

Update: Apparently this is a list or "suggestions" and the nominees will be announced later this year. Do not take these to be official nominations. The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation has announced their nominees for th 2009 Razzie Awards and yet again you can spot the not-so-subtle attempts at humor and the obvious nature of the entire list. The best part of the whole thing is that the way these awards are decided are based on member votes, which means people actually spend - at a minimum - $20 to submit votes and say films such as Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans weren't any good. I wonder, did these people actually go spend money on these movies or are they voting purely on the idea that these movies must be bad? Because if they actually paid to see all of these movies that may be as sad as the award show itself. »
