When William gets the blue paint dropped on his head, it doesn't make that much of a mess on his head, but the next time we see him, he is completely covered in blue paint.

In the scene while the kids are messing up Helen's room, and the monitor is out the window, and Mick is holding onto Lau, you see a hand holding onto Mick's leg but in the next shot there is no one there anymore.

After Helen and Frank fight about Frank's regimentation, they sleep in separate beds. Helen is in the master bedroom. Frank is attempting to sleep in the little boys' room, in the toybox/boat. At first, Frank is covered in plush toys, with only his head and shoulders visible. When the pig takes a pillow, there are no plush toys covering up Frank.

Towards the end of the film, when the kids mess up Helen's room, when the computer monitor falls out of the window. Mrs. Munion and Helen are in the room Mrs. Munioin's position changes when she goes to help.

Factual errors 

Aaron Tosti is listed in the credits as "Hawk Nelson, Party Band - Drums." While it is true that Aaron Tosti has been Hawk Nelson's drummer since 2005, the drummer that appears in the Party Band scene is drummer Gideon Courtney.

The boat that they show in the movie is actually the Sherman (WHEC 720), a Coast Guard Cutter stationed in Alameda, California. The movie is supposed to be set in Connecticut.

In a party scene, Commandant Sherman is wearing the dress uniform of a 5-star admiral, a rank that does not exist in the Coast Guard and hasn't been bestowed upon any officer since 1950. The Commandant is later seen wearing the four stars of a full admiral.

At the end of the movie when the camera pulls back to show the front yard and the wedding party, you can tell by shadows that the sun is shinning from the upper right hand corner. However, the right side of the yard is completely shaded even though there's nothing there to cast a shadow, thereby revealing that the shooting location had many trees, and that the ocean view was edited in.

When the family is at the hardware store shopping for the improvements to the house, Eli and Otter drive a forklift into bags of sand. At first there is sand falling from where the two sides of the forklift broke the bags, then a third stream starts falling in the middle on Frank's head, where there wasn't a hole.
