Rooney invents the honk-a-phone but can't play it leaving him discouraged. Mazz, Deedee, Moe, and Bus Driver Bob each give him examples of tasks they had trouble doing. But they "Keep Trying" until they learn how to do a task properly.
It is DeeDee's birthday so she creates a new dance for it called the Wobbly Whoopsy. However, because it requires a tutu, the boys won't do it. After failing to successfully give her a cake and gift, they decide to do the dance after all.
Mazz surprises Moe with the news that he is scheduled to perform a solo at the concert. Moe develops a major case of stage fright before the show and nothing Deedee, Rooney, or Bus Driver Bob does helps until he goes on and performs.
Rooney is in an inquisitive mode asking questions pertaining to What When Why. Only Rooney knows the concert location as Mazz surprises them with the show going to Spain and France. Rooney is able to say hello in their native languages.
Deedee receives a magic kit but discovers she must practice to be good at it. They take her props to the park where she does tricks for the kids plus on the bus for Bob but things are disappearing but not returning until the concert.
As Deedee reads her favorite book about red tap shoes, she wishes for something magical to happen. She receives a pair of red tap shoes but can't stop tap dancing until Rooney and Moe have her do high kicks which cause them to come off.
The Doodlebops receive a large amount of fan mail which they promise Mazz they will respond to before the concert. However, a big parade causes them to take a break. To keep their promise they must respond to the letters while on the bus.
The Doodlebops have a new song but no words for it. Mazz gives them a list of objects on a list and they decide to write a song about the things they see around them. They go to the park where they pick up ideas and include Bus Driver Bob.
Moe is running around wanting everyone to play tag with him but they are too tired. Rooney invents a machine to slow or speed up people which slows Moe down too much but it breaks. Moe has the missing part to make it work properly.
The Doodlebops play superheroes discussing different faces showing a person's emotion. They take on the challenge of making Mudge smile by telling him jokes and taking him to the seashore and the concert with them.
When the power goes out during a storm, the Doodlebops learn to not be scared by the noises they hear. Professor Noise drops by to demonstrate the "strange and scary" noises made by unique instruments he has found around the world.
The Doodlebops decide to play dress-up with Deedee as queen and Rooney and Moe as her knights doing her bidding - until Rooney and Moe get tired of being bossed around and finally revolt against the "queen".
The Doodlebop concert is moved to a location further away while Bus Driver Bob's bus breaks down. The Doodlebops are forced to try several different modes of transportation to get to the concert until Bus Driver Bob fixes the bus.
They find a lost dog at Doodlebop Central who they name Strudle Doodle after he eats Rooney's dessert. They become attached to him but decide to try to find his owner. A mother and daughter show up at the theater looking for their "Clyde".
Moe wants to play but Rooney and Deedee are busy reading books. Even Mazz and Bus Driver Bob are reading as Moe continues to ignore reading until Rooney gets his interest with a science fiction book which Moe must read to learn the ending.
The Doodlebops have a new song that features high and low frequency sounds. They want to enhance the song for the concert with examples of high and low sounds. They borrow Mazz's tape recorder to record different sounds for the concert.
It is a Gibble Gobble Nabber Gabber day in which nothing works as usual. Deedee can't talk, Moe doesn't hide, the rope pulls Moe, the bus drives backwards, and Mudge knows the band's proper name. It lasts only until the concert starts.
Moe is hungry but the only snack available is cauliflower. Moe and Deedee like it but Rooney refuses to try it. After realizing he has tried other non food activities, he tries it. Jumpin Judy makes an appearance in the concert.
Moe is unhappy because he is shorter and weaker than the others. He can't reach items, open jars, or see over the others out the window. He sings a song about wanting to be bigger while the others sing about how he will grow bigger.
When the Doodlebops cannot find their instruments at Doodlebop Central, Mazz inspires them to make music with common items. They retrace their steps to find the instruments at the concert hall but they play one song on "jimk" items.
Mazz teaches the Doodlebops to count to ten when things go bad to prevent losing your temper after she describes her bad day. The day goes bad for all as Deedee breaks her Keytar, Rooney loses his shoe, and Moe drops his ice cream.
Moe is reading about dinosaurs so he has Deedee and Rooney guessing what he is play acting as - a dinosaur. The three discuss their favorite dinosaurs but find the names hard to remember. Rooney has a song to help remember their names.
Rooney invents a new sound machine for the act but Moe breaks it. They are forced to come up with a new idea for the concert but have no ideas. Mazz's cousin Jumping Judy visits the Doodlebops and at the end they decide to have her appear.
The three Doodlebops each have a song they want to play at the concert but there is no agreement on which one to select although each thinks something is missing. In the end they learn that if they play them together, it sounds the best.
Rooney shares his love of bird watching with Deedee and Moe. He wants to see the rare "bandied legged bubble brain booby bird" but everyone but Rooney sees it. The Doodlebops sing a song about birds and visit birds in a zoo.
