Spoof of the Hong Kong Blockbuster Infernal Affairs, the film based of a bizarre and nonsense war between the police and the triads. Lek Sir send Keung, Yan and Fatty on undercover inside Sam's garage to get the evidence of any crime Sam has committed includes spitting on the street, bribing and get prostitutes, in order Lek can win the heart of Sam's wife Mary again. This film continues director Wong Jing's "Chasing girls" series since the trilogy of "Romancing Stars" in the 80s, Wong successfully re introduce his famous adoptions and nonsense humor in the new form in new generation. Written by Lam
With a title like Love is a Many Stupid Thing, without even looking at the credits, you know its Wong Jing's movie. His style of making no apologies to entertain is evident in this spoof of now famous 2002 classic "Infernal Affairs". What's funny is that some of the actors who were in the Infernal Affairs is in this movie too, making spoof of themselves.
Wong Jung's movie may sometimes take on ridiculous flavor, but its never low quality, and all the right pointers to the original are placed cleverly in its scenes which makes this movie over the top funny. This is one talented guy who can come up with entertaining ideas from all angles whether it's a drama, action, or comedy.
You'll be doubled up for most of the movie because of all the crazy ideas thrown in to satire the original, but you must watch the original first to appreciate this movie. If you don't, none of the plot makes any sense. Many scenes seems to be shot at the same location where the original was made too.
See it for the laugh.
